The OAO Vice Presidential Debate Thread

Cheney is thinking about partisan divide only in terms of Congress

I think what is being asked is more how to bridge the sharp political divide across America as a whole

He recognizes that until the POLITICAL SYSTEM gets unified, the country won't be unified.

And please tell me Edwards isn't trying to blame the divide on Bush. This is laughable.

Well, considering his performance, it is the usual.

Edwards should get buzzed for saying "John Kerry," like when you accidentally give away the subject on The $100,000 Pyramid.

Also, there should be a darkened stage and that cool ticking clock.

The real question:

Dick Clark or Donny Osmond?

That's not a real question! Dick Clark. The real question is whether they use TV screens, or those boxes that they turn.

TURNING BOXES TURNING BOXES!!!

Uh, John as long as there's been two parties there's been division.

What exactly happens if you break the rules?

You have to be lead around on a leash in a sex club by former US Senate candidate Jack Ryan of Illinois.

Then you'll be Eight of Nine.

(nobody gets it)

Also, an obscure rule: no prepositional phrases. I never got that.

1876, 1884, 1888, and 1892 would be good elections to read up on...

The biggest election scandal until 2000 and Grover Cleveland becoming the only non-consecutive terms president in US history.

Well Cheney was lambasting the lack of support from Dems in Congress as a reason for the sharp divide.

And I think both sides don't take into account the people and the divide among them as a whole. Just because voters elect Congress doesn't mean the problems of political divide ends there.

Hands down, a thorough BUTT-kicking, from start to finish. Cheney owned him on foreign policy AND domestic policy.

Yeah, discussing America's "light flickering" is just a winning formula. Worked WONDERS for Carter.

HAH!

Best post in this thread so far.

Preconceived opinions are such a bitch to get rid of.

It's a stretch to imagine he knows anything about the Oval Office during the Bush administration, considering he spent a good portion of these four years hidden away in a "remote location."

Oh, how I wish Edwards would, at least, have touched on that mystery.

See, the unbiased opinion of this debate would be that it was a draw.

Cheney won on the foreign issues.

Edwards won on the domestic issues.

But then again....

Hands down, a thorough BUTT-kicking, from start to finish. Cheney owned him on foreign policy AND domestic policy.

.....Mike disagrees with me. Never have I seen him lean towards the right in any way, shape, or form.
