Guest MikeSC Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Wow, Edwards with a Vietnam reference on behalf of Kerry. Oh my God, he didn't mention Halliburton, did he? This might get ugly as hell. -=Mike
Guest INXS Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Even I have to admit that Cheney i owning..Haliburton! Take a shot!
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Jesus, Cheney is taking Kerry and Edwards apart right now. Competely slaughtered them on the whole "90% of all costs" line and is just working over Kerry's record now. I call bullshit on that. He said 50% of the casualties go to Iraqis. Though I agree Cheney is whoopin ass. He uses pauses so much better than Bush did - he looks like he's thinking rather than being stupid
NYU Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Cheney is doing better than Edwards so far. But Edwards definitely isn't doing too bad himself. I'm shocked. Mike walked into this debate with his preconceived opinions of what will happen - and, by God, amazingly, he seems to think he was right! Annihilation? What a joke.

Edwards hasn't brought ANYTHING outside of the talking points. Nothing else. No facts. No figures. Just the usual talking points. I doubt Cheney could have been prepared for this debate better. -=Mike
teke184 Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 This is gonna be good... Edwards just pulled the "Their coalition sucks!" card. Cheney's response is going to be priceless.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I think Bush did worse than Edwards is now. Much worse. Cheney is doing better than Kerry, though. But the gap isn't that big.

But hey, that's what Kerry did to Bush right? I know, sucks when the other team decides to play ball too...............
Guest INXS Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Take Iraqis out of IraQ! that'll solve the problem I guess...
Guest MikeSC Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Does Edwards REALLY want to get into the funding problems of the military? Cheney is having a blast undressing him thus far. -=Mike
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Kerry should be thankful that he's got two more go-rounds with Bush and that the VP debate historically has less of an impact than his own. Edwards is taking the unfortunate approach of trying to explain complicated reasons for voting on bills, bringing up lots of minutiae, and he's not doing a very good job of it. It's the exact opposite of how Kerry succeeded so well in the first debate. Cheney's staying simple and displaying a mammoth knowledge of the nation's history, contextualizing everything he's saying and looking like the guy in control. East-coast debate scorecard: Edwards 24, Cheney a weak 26.
Guest INXS Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I dont know whether Edwards is doing poorly or Cheney is just owning..

More soldiers have died in Iraq in August than they did in July. More soldiers have died in July than they did in June. How are things going well?" I don't know. To me, that seems to do a pretty good job of going against Cheney's claims of how the war is under control. I'm not saying Edwards is winning. Cheney is. But it's a complete fucking joke if you think Cheney is annihilating Edwards.
Downhome Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 "we have a plan..." I hear that John Kerry really does have a plan. Really.
Guest MikeSC Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Hell, even I could admit when Bush wasn't looking great on Thursday. And Edwards keeps mentioning the already-very-discredited numbers ad infinitum. -=Mike
teke184 Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Edwards is trying the Bush strategy and failing miserably IMHO...
Guest MikeSC Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 When Cheney looks pissed, it doesn't look bad. When Bush looks pissed, it does. -=Mike

More soldiers have died in Iraq in August than they did in July. More soldiers have died in July than they did in June. How are things going well?" Well you know the insurgents are becoming more desperate by the month as much 'paper tigers' as they (and Bin Laden) think we are. So that's expected................
Ted the Poster Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Cheney almost always LOOKS pissed, though. It's just how he is, I think.
The Czech Republic Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 THEY BLACKED OUT CHENEY OMG LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS
JoeDirt Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Edwards really has no excuse for getting owned this bad. Cheney is on, yes, but Edwards isn't doing to well, IMO.
Guest INXS Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 American Intelligence - isn't that an oxymoron? Ooh Edwards is fighting back....
JoeDirt Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Also, let's be honest that foreign policy is not Edwards' strength...when they get to domestic issues he'll do a lot better...at least I hope.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Edwards is speaking very well, his points are flowing very smoothly -however, at this point, he isn't bringing anything new to the table. Cheney is. The Democrats relaxed and thought they could rest with the points Kerry won it. The Republicans stepped it up. +2 on the Shock n Awe. +1 on the Homeland and 911 Commission Better watch out, Edwards is getting relaxed.
DMann2003 Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I hate to say this, but Edwards is to Kerry what Quayle was to Bush (1st), Thankfully (my opinion) John Kerry isn't Michael Dukakis *please don't hit me AMikeSC*
