Dr. Tyler; Captain America

How would you spend your last day alive?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about this today, since my grandfather was essentially put in that position today. He was given 24 hours to live last night, and I got to thinking about how short 24 hours is. And I also started to think about how I'd spend that last day if I knew it was coming.

So, how would you?

hmmm...tough question. It would probably depend on when it was, I mean are we supposed to answer this assuming our last day would be today at our current age?

Sure, whatever floats your boat in terms of the topic posted. Doesn't have to be depressive or whatnot.

I think it is also difficult for those of us not married or with children, because I mean what ELSE can you really put on THAT sort of level of HAVING TO DO......this one will take some thought.

If I'm single, pissdrunk.

If I'm married (fat chance), with my wife and possibly with kids.

Sorry about your grandfather, Tyler.

But if he's a Democrat, Moveon.org will still get his vote on record in this upcoming election.

NoCal's first post is pretty much what I would say. Depending on my age or condition I would either go out in a blaze of glory or play video games/watch movies all day...

First of all, sorry to hear about your grandfather ... it sucks to hear about things like that.

Then, to answer your question, I'd probably spend some time in the morning with my nephew, who I'd be counting on to carry on in my place in the family dynamic. Then I'd probably go to each person that's wronged me and tell them off once and for all, and to each person that's treated me well (above and beyond the call of duty well, not just your standard well) and thank them for all they've done. Then I'd begin drinking and drugging to the level of Keith Moon, just to get it all out of my system. Then, right at the last minute I'd repent for all my sins in life to ensure that I'd be going North, rather than South, once I'd officially dead.

And, of course, throughout the day I'd be trying to bang as many girls with the "I'm dying tomorrow, pity me with a quickie" line.

I'd walk around naked and get in a fight with anyone who looked at me funny.

After taking near lethal dosages of PCP and LSD. I'd carry an axe.

I'd spend it with my family and friends and have a killing spree.

Oh, and Tyler, if your grandmother pulls this shit, I'll retract my sympathies.

Source...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Send no flowers to commemorate Jane Buffett's death, her husband asks. Instead, send John Kerry to the White House.

In a paid obituary published in Madison's two daily newspapers, Roger Buffett celebrated his wife's years as a mother, homemaker, grandmother and English teacher. But, he said, she was "outraged" by President Bush's decision to invade Iraq and then expecting "her grandchildren to pay the bills." Other Bush administration policies angered her as well.

"She saw John Kerry as the candidate who would most conserve everything she valued," the obituary said. "Jane fought to live long enough to be able to vote this November. To honor her memory, please do everything you can to elect John Kerry."

Jane Buffett, 64, died of cancer Sept. 25. The obituary, which called her a "fiery woman," appeared Monday.

Spend time with my friends for a while, tell them all goodbye. Call my family (or at least the few of them I talk to) and tell them goodbye. Go to confession, get absolved. Spend the last several hours with my wife.

Then, right at the last minute I'd repent for all my sins in life to ensure that I'd be going North, rather than South, once I'd officially dead.

Unless you're truly sorry and feel remorse for said sins, you're still going South. You actually have to feel regret for your actions to truly be absolved.

See what being raised Catolic has done to me?

Anywho, more than likely, I'd do what I do every other day. Hang out with family and friends, drink beer, play video games, etc. Of course, if I had to work, I'd call off, with the excuse being that I'm going to die in about 18 or so hours.

Actualy, I'm a believer in God, so I've done a pretty good job of repenting & apologizing as I've sinned. It'd only be the stuff that I did that day that would need to be addressed.

I'm 99% sure I'll be looking down with a harp, rather than up from the flames, when all is said and done.

Oh, and Tyler, if your grand(father) pulls this shit, I'll retract my sympathies.

I appreciate it. He passed away at 9:13pm last night, around 24 hours from when they gave him his 1 day deadline thingy.

He spent his with his family, but he was really unable to enjoy it (he had lung cancer and his lung capacity at that point was such that his blood O2 level was 75% of normal. Healthy people have 100% obviously, people with lung disease are down to about 93%, people with emphazema (sp?) have 85%. So, you can imagine.

I would kill as many people as I could, including a "friend" or two. And I'd probably head up north before dying/being killed by the police.

That's how I've planned my suicide, too/actually. Let's just hope that it never comes to that.

..I couldn't spend time with my family because I'd do nothing but cry, and if I've only got a day, I don't want to waste it like that.

Kill myself. I wouldn't want to sit there alive, because I'd be counting down the hours until it would happen. As much fun as it would be to look at the clock and go, "Well, five hours until I die," I'll just walk out of the doctor's office and pull a trigger.
