I just finished readind Lloyd Kaufman's book "Make Your Own Damn Movie", and now am really interested in seeing some Troma films. I've ordered The Toxic Avenger, are there any other films I could watch to start?

You need all four Toxie films, The Class Of Nuke 'Em High, Troma's War, Sgt Kabukiman NYPC... basically any films that Lloyd wrote/directed are best to start with.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot this one to start with but you absolutly HAVE to get Tromeo and Juliet.

You should watch the first Toxic Avenger and the fourth, as even the movie admits that they weren't up to par.

Huh? All I remember about the fourth one saying anything like that was in the beginning, where it apologizes for Toxic Avenger 2 and 3.

Downhome, I like you buddy, but to even SUGGEST Redneck Zombies is a sin. That movie SUCKED, and this is coming from a guy who watched From Justin To Kelly and liked it. Also, Redneck Zombies is not a Troma film. Neither is Cannibal. The rights to them were simply bought by Troma for release.

Toxic 1 is essential, as it's their masterpiece. Tromeo and Juliet, Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD, and Class Of Nuke 'Em High 1 are all also very good recommendations when getting into Troma.

Also, is this a new book? I have "All I Needed To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger", but hadn't heard about this one.

It's obviously not great, good, or whatever, but it makes me laugh my ass off every time I see it.

Yep, I know that, but they are Troma DVDs seeing how they fit the same type of mold as Troma films.

I think the only part I laughed at was when the guy was bugging out and performing the autopsy. Oh, and the fact that the military transports toxic canisters in open air vehicles in the middle of nowhere.

Was Surf Nazis Must Die a Troma movie?

No doubt....it is.....

Look for appearances by Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead), Trey Parker, and Matt Stone in Terror Firmer, and Ron Jeremy (if you don't know who he is, you're fucking hopeless) and Lemmy in Toxic Avenger IV.

Also, GET SURF NAZIS MUST DIE!!! Oddly enough, it's one of the better acted Troma movies, as the second-in-command Surf Nazi makes you hate him.

Zack...you have All I Learned... too? I love you.

Hells yeah man. I bought that and Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese during the same trip to the bookstore.

Oddly enough, even as a major Tromite, I've never seen the complete Surf Nazis Must Die, just bits and pieces. I did, however, manage to sit through The First Turn-On.

Also on topic: Troma's now releasing cheapie three packs of older movies they have the rights to. One pack I saw at Best Buy contained Deadly Daphne's Revenge, which is a cult favorite amongst fans of the cheese.

Also, stay away from BEWARE: Children At Play, save for the final scene (which I will not spoil here).

The book "Make Your Own Damn Movie" is fairly new, it says 2003 somewhere on the back. I stumbled upon it after looking for some books on moviemaking. It's an awesome read by the way.
