Does that mean the fresh new episodes of TNA IMPACT! will be airing in canada?

If you're lucky, no.

Here's on update from PWInsider.com:

As previously noted here on PWInsider.com, TNA has cleared Canada’s TSN. The promotion’s flagship show, Impact! will begin to air on Mondays starting 11/8 at 4 PM. We had previously reported 11/1. This is a major clearance for the company as it opens them up to the rabid Canadian wrestling audience, with a readymade babyface gimmick in Scott D'Amore's Team Canada.

TNA has only signed for a six week trial period with TSN, although TSN has an option to extend the series if Impact!’s ratings warrant.

NWA champion Jeff Jarrett is slated to appear on TSN’s "Off the Record" sports talk show with Michaels Landsberg to promote the company and the show's Canadian clearance.

Doesn't appear that they are paying to be on, so they may have gotten a better deal in Canada than they did in the States.

This can't be anything but good news for TNA. Even if the majority of this board isn't happy with the current product, you'd still have to admit that more people being able to view the product, even if we don't agree with the direction, is a good thing.

It needs to draw ratings to keep it on the air --- and they've yet to show a capacity to do that.

Since the board's so dull lately, I'll rain on the parade just to cause some discussion. WWE's contract with Spike TV runs out soon, and they've been looking at USA, TNT, and FX (owned by FOX, which airs TNA's only show) to move to. If FOX and Vince came to a deal, TNA would lose their spot on FSN (similar to when ECW was dumped by TNN to sign with WWF). Just some bad news to go with the good.

TNA will have to actually come to Canada to make us care. WCW came to Canada like 3 times, and no one cared about their Pro-Canada gimmicks. Only Bret Hart made people care but that was because of the WWF.

TNA will get good enough ratings on TSN. It's almost a guarantee.

There are two things that always draw well in Canada. Hockey and Wrestling.

Even with the bad timeslot (1 PM my time), they'll get good enough ratings to warrant keeping them on the network.

Personally, I'll be doing everything I can by pimping it like a motherfucker to the rest of my school. And I'll be taping the show every week.

That's easy to say now. I used to tell a lot of people about TNA as well. "It's another wrestling show, that's not WWE. It'd kindof like WCW mixed with ECW!" Well, after a few of the people tuned into the show thanks to my shilling, needless to say, they'll probably never be back.

Of course, that was back during the $10 PPV's pre-Impact.

I used to record Impact every week too. Just like you plan on doing. Now I don't even watch the show anymore. I watched and recorded the show for twelve weeks. That was enough to run me off...and I lasted longer than a lot of other people here.

We'll see how long you stick to your word after you realize that Impact is worse than Sunday Night Heat.

I've never watched Impact, but with this news, I think I may, because now I can.

But now I must ask - what kind of match quality does Impact give you? Is it like, jobbers vs jobbers, stars vs jobbers, stars vs stars, what?

I mean, I'll be glad to see any wrestling that isn't the WWE for free right now - but if it's all Joe Nobody vs Nobody Joe, no thanks.

I'm a hardcore Wrestling fan though... I booked every Saturday afternoon off of work so that I can watch Lucha Libre on TeleLatino...and I can't even understand what they're saying.

I've been shilling TNA to my friends since the beginning...and I still am. I love TNA, even when it sucks.

It's usually squash matches with an X-division match thrown in (which sometimes is a squash as well) and a main event that ends in a guitar shot.

You see people like Raven, Abyss & Monty Brown beat people whom you've never heard of. You'll see, sometimes, a decent curtain jerker. The main event? Well, I hope you're a fan of Jeff Jarrett.

So is everyone else here. That doesn't mean that we're blind to what sucks though.

You don't have to understand the language to appreciate the art form. That's why Puro is popular to a lot of American fans. Even if you don't speak the language, you can follow the story in the ring.

You say that now...we'll see what tune you're humming in, say, two months.

Here's the announcement from TSN.ca. Naturally, they get NWA-TNA's company name right, and list some of the big stars: Jeff Jarrett, Dusty Rhodes, Jonny Fairplay, Toby Keith, Chris Rock, Brian Urlacher, Hermie Sadler, Sterling Marlin, Dory Funk Jr., Harley Race, Jackie Fargo, Ricky Steamboat and Bullet Bob Armstrong. <_<

Off the Record is also plugging the following for an upcoming guest:

Jeff Jarrett - Former WWE Superstar - Coming Soon

This is going to suck. The wwe has the best of the best so how can any of you who say wwe is so boring watch this crap. Come on!!! WWE rules 4 life!!!

Shows the intelligence of the TSN board fans, eh?

That being said, I think unless Low Ki returns or TNA get American Dragon, I'm pretty lost on the company. I don't even think I'll be watching Victory Road. I had plans to do so, but then Jeff Hardy won the damn #1 Contenders tournament. Even with the gimmick being a Ladder Match and The Outsiders being there, I don't think I want to watch that. :(

--TNA Impact is in serious danger on TSN after the WWE found out the network was planning on running the shows on Mondays. Phil King of TSN was said to be mad that Scott D'Amore made the announcement on Joe Aiello's radio show in Winnipeg last week, although TSN put the story up on its own web site last week as well. They've since taken the story down. Carl DeMarco of WWE went ballistic when he found out, and it's said to be 50/50 whether the show will air or not.

For the record, the story is still on the site, but I don't see it linked to anywhere.

Impact will make it to the Canadian airwaves, just not on Monday. Remember, TSN used to carry Nitro on Tuesdays and Raw on Mondays. However, with the NHL lockout still going on, the 'E' has more leverage than they normally would.
