Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 Hasn't been around since Russo first lost power in TNA last year. Apparently Jeff Jarrett wasn't too keen on him, and he was always getting stuck in shit angles to begin with. I did mark out when he finally arrived in TNA though. I always dug the guy too. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 Sanders didn't help matters by always being out of shape. Whenever he wrestled during his last run with TNA, he always had to cover his ample gut.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 He was always pretty good on the mic. I marked out for him when he was leading the Natural Born Thrillers in WCW's dying days.
Guest Duncan Eternia Report post Posted October 16, 2004 I still think he had the greatest debut ever in WCW....Kanyon Diamond cutters him, Jarrett hits him with a guitar..etc. Good stuff!
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 I remember him teaming w/ Angry Allan Funk (Kwee Wee) as the "Reinforcers" in many Worldwide Exclusive matches where they went over about 4 weeks in a row in early 2000. Funk would be the mouthpiece while Sanders would just stand in the background w/ his hands in his pockets. Then, Funk would scream . . . "I'm Angry Allan Funk, this is Average Mike Sanders!!!" (Sanders whispers into Funk's ear) "I stand corrected, ABOVE AVERAGE Mike Sanders!" Fun stuff.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 From what was said back then, Sanders simply doesn't like the act of wrestling. He tried to be a commentator for WWE and TNA, but both weren't interested, so he pretty much quit the business.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I always marked out for the guy. I thought his charisma was awesome and I had an UNBELIEVEABLE comeback using a custom Sanders in an Iron Man Match in WWE No Mercy for N64. My best friend, Keith, using his custom Sean O'Haire vs. my custom Mike Sanders wrestled a 60 Minute Iron Man Match. Keith and I are very, very fucking good at the game, so it was going to take a match like this to decide the winner. With 10 minutes left to go, the score was 6-10 O'Haire as he was on an incredible run, hitting me constantly with the "O'Haire cut" as my friend called his custom finisher, a Super STO. He started talking shit, so I took advantage of his stamina at that point and used every trick in the book to get a pin. Eye rake, chin breaker, pinfall, 1-2-3. Block a move, roll up, pinfall. Eventually, the final score was 15-10 Sanders... I wish the guy would have gotten a shot at WWE. They never should have released him without putting him on TV first. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I don't remember the exact date offhand, but there was a Nitro in mid-to-late 2000 where Sanders and Kevin Nash had a verbal showdown, and Sanders carved Nash up. People were laughing about it behind Nash's back, because Nash had had always had this rep of having a great wit, and you had this no-name, as Sanders was at the time, taking him apart. The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Sanders' in-ring ability never seemed that special, but I thought he'd make a great manager for somebody. You just don't have enough of that type anymore.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Orton took his finisher, which is one of the coolest looking transition moves in the WWE.

The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 the "O'Haire cut" groan I didn't name it. As a matter of fact, he and I were so wrapped into our imaginary Sanders/O'Haire feud that we made a bet to each other to see who would make it on TV first after WCW died... I counted Sanders appearance on TNA as a win. HEY~! Dames

The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 Yes. The bet didn't start until O'Haire was sent to OVW after the initial InVasion. Dames
