Zack Malibu Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 OK, so I'm in the second year of my Dolphins franchise, and make it to the Super Bowl once again. Thing is, as soon as one of my players is tackled for the first time, the game freezes. Is this a common bug, defective disc, or corrupted memory card? Any help is appreciated.
Cartman Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Couldn't be sure exactly...but I wouldn't be suprised as this game has quite a few bugs.
jimmy no nose Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 There's bugs all over the game. I had that same thing happen to mine. I assume you're talking about PS2 because you mention memory cards, but mine was on Xbox. Luckily for me I was in the second game of a franchise when that started happening to me, so I just started a new franchise and had no problems after that. I don't know if there's any way to get around it.
KingPK Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I haven't encountered a single serious bug with my copy. The season stats said one of my linebackers was second on the team in pass receptions, but that's about it.
2GOLD Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I've also not had any major bugs with the game. Sounds like defection copy or PS2 problems to me Zach.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I've actually heard wide reports of bugs in the game, so I don't doubt that this may be one of them.
Guest GreatOne Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Well the worst I came up with yet is on the scoreticker, example Steelers 27 Bengals 20 and then it informs me that Warren Sapp has three sacks, which would be good if I had actually dealt/moved him to Cincinnati or Pittsburgh....................
Rendclaw Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Yeah this game has a lot of bugs... so does NBA 2k5 for that matter. Â I had to replay a season game against the Falcons six times, because the game kept hanging at some point during the game.

Zetterberg is God Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I think the one bug that pisses me off the most in my game is inappropriate kick returners. For instance, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning return kicks in my game (and they are on computer teams in my franchise so I can't change it) and it makes no sense.
LaParkaMarka Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I've never seen a QB returning punts or kicks. That's bizarre. Â The one freeze I've gotten is when there's less than 2 mins left, the offense barely gets a 3rd and short, there's offsetting penalties, and there's an automatic booth review on the spot of the ball. That was a bizarre enough freeze that I could ignore it. Otherwise, the game has run just fine.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Madden last year used to hang on automatic challenges occasionally, too.
PsychoDriver Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I have that same bug, I can never play a single freaking game anymore without it locking up after the first few plays. Sometimes it goes away if you turn the commentary off... but still pops up even then. Â It's very annoying, to the point where I can't even play the game anymore period. I guess you really do get what you pay for, and this has kept he from buying NBA and NHL 2k5
Black Lushus Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I've experienced the freeze bug a couple of times, nothing too major...not sure if this is a bug or not, but on a couple of my play packages, the computer keeps setting my punter as the QB at the start of the game. I never catch it until I've got the play going and the guys break from the huddle, so of course I have to burn a time out to set it right... Â the only NBA 2K5 bug I'm seeing so far is when the sports ticker is going, when it shows the player name and his stats, for every game it's always Stephon Marbury listed as the winning teams' star player (I'm guessing it choses THAT name because I'm playing as the Knicks)...
Rendclaw Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Nah, I am playing the Magic, and it does the same thing. I just ignore it.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 If I run for 5 yards, and there is a clipping penalty, my running back will be at -25 yards for that one play. Its a bitch whenyou are trying to add to your stats.
Guest Flyboy Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 the only NBA 2K5 bug I'm seeing so far is when the sports ticker is going, when it shows the player name and his stats, for every game it's always Stephon Marbury listed as the winning teams' star player (I'm guessing it choses THAT name because I'm playing as the Knicks)... My NFL 2K5 runs like a pro... there is a bug in ALL the NBA 2K5's, though, that the CPU will not take timeouts at ALL in a game. To fix the problem (only works in Exhibition games) you have to go to the CPU side before the game, set the opponent's team timeouts calling from "Manual" to "Auto" and it's fixed. Doesn't work in Association because you can't switch sides.
Black Lushus Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 If I run for 5 yards, and there is a clipping penalty, my running back will be at -25 yards for that one play. Its a bitch whenyou are trying to add to your stats. Good Lord are you right on that one, I forgot about THAT bug...had Travis Henry break off a 50 yard run only to have it called back for a hold and of course it knocked 50 yards away from his previous number, I was pissed... Â I noticed the timeout problem on NBA 2K5 as well, they NEVER call timeouts, which is silly... Â Something else that isn't really a bug but it sure sucks when you just want a blowout game to end in NFL games, not just ESPN games: You're up by a huge lead with a minute left, you have the ball and you just wanna run out that clock and get the damn game over with but the CPU constantly calls timeouts...it's like, what the hell for? You're not gonna win, just let it go!
LaParkaMarka Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I forgot about the clipping bug too. That can be pretty darn annoying.
Jericholic82 Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 only problem i had was once i was playing an exhibition game and the screen kept on bringing up the graphic saying suzy kolber reporting before EVERY play  btw I have it on PS2

Red Baron Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 For X-Box users, have you ever noticed that sometimes you go out of bounds, that the clock still runs.
Zetterberg is God Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 For X-Box users, have you ever noticed that sometimes you go out of bounds, that the clock still runs. I must have gotten the glitchiest copy of all, because mine sometimes does that too. Another one is switching my starters around without me knowing (ex: putting in my backup QB even if my starter is 100% healthy and has played every game).
Black Lushus Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 I have it on PS2 and I also have the clock still running after going out of bounds problem, same with the computer switching my QBs on me at the beginning of the game, as mentioned earlier...
Guest Blackston Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Well, the NFL is not the same as college ball, and for most of the game they actually do run the clock after a play is ruled out of bounds. I don't know at what point in the game they stop the clock on an OOB play. I think it is something like five minutes left in the 4th, I know I am wrong though.
