Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Also, if a girl can make you laugh, she's a keeper. Seriously. True --- but you have a better shot at winning a lottery than finding one. -=Mike
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 As I said early in the thread, it's happened twice. I wound up with one for awhile; various circumstances prevented the other from happening. It can be done, people. I've seen it with my own eyes.
godthedog 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 i've met a couple funny girls in the 2 months i've spent here. but one of them is a mormon and the other one has a really fucked up sense of relationships, so i won't be going for either of them any time soon. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Well, for a start, teenage girls generally watch shitty T.V 'comedies'. From a young age, their sense of humour doesn't get above 'pie in the face'. So, you can blame Hilary Duff et all.

godthedog 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 So, you can blame Hilary Duff et all. this reminds me: amanda bynes has the worst show in the history of television. no hyperbole can do it justice. I bet mormon chicks get freaky. i may have to rethink my position then. come to think of it, there IS something not-quite-right about her, and she was making placenta jokes at the diner the other night. hmm. Guest Horse hockey! Report post Posted October 17, 2004 My sense of humor is best relayed in a real life setting, thus none of you have been on the receiving end. But I also fall into that fat/ugly category you all group everyone except supermodels into, so I wouldn't be given the time of day to tell a joke to begin with. I'm more known for the witty one liners, anyway.

In 10 years, even the hottest women begin to lose their looks. Got to think long-term. A witty girl will likely always be witty. A pretty girl will not always be pretty. -=Mike

I'd say that's quite the generalization, there. Maybe a little pot.kettle.black on top of that, but I haven't decided yet.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Again, how many funny GUYS do you all know? I can think of maybe three. MAYBE. I can think of one maybe two girls. Seems pretty fair, especially since I live with and meet more guys than girls. But I will agree w/ the Hillary Duff comment in general. If more girls and guys got their humor from Seinfeld, Home Movies, and the Simpsons and less from Friends and I dunno what else, we'd be a much funnier country. EricMM 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Well, you're more than 50 miles away. Your excuse is...? -=Mike No, see Mike, that just proves her point. She was being funny there. Clearly, thankfully, she is 50 miles away. Hey, how many of the GUYS here think that they're pretty funny? I know that, in person, I can make a lot of people laugh. I don't know jokes, tho, so I can't really do it online. It's all responsive.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I may be the only man in America who has a funny girlfriend. She brings the Laughter on like Mo Vaughn brings plates to the Buffet. River City Rocker 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Oh, women can be funny at times. Ever see a girl in school start trashing one of the nerd or outcasts, usually when he's in earshot, and her group of friends laugh at every cruel joke or insult she makes about that person? So, yeah, I suppose women can be funny when they're giving you the not-so subtle reminder on where the unwanted peers belong on the social totem pole. Seriously, my last girlfriend didn't have too much of a sense of humor. She would sit with me and watch comedies, and instead of laughing, she'd start analyzing certain scenes, and why it was completely impossible in real life. Ever hear someone try to explain to you how a freaking Three Stooges short (with a scene where Curly scares off a bear by barking in fear) was not only unfunny, but would never happen in any real life situation? -Ben

I'm not a fan, mind you, but most women I know have a VISCERAL hatred. However, the idea of a serious discussion of the lack of reality in the Three Stooges seems like it has the potential for great comedy. -=Mike
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 A witty girl will likely always be witty. Plus, if she gets Alzheimer's at an old age, she'll be even funnier. (kidding!) My sister's best friend is the only consistently funny girl I've ever met. My sister can belt out some good one-liners every so often, but her friend is amazing when it comes to making jokes on the fly.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 The Stooges are so misunderstood. Fuck the Marx Brothers. Well, not Groucho, he was good, but the rest of them. Even though only 2/3 of the various stooges over the years were good, they're still the best old school comedy team, bar none.
