Wasn't the curse something that was fabricated by a schmuck Boston sportswriter? Help me out on this Bostonites.

Dan Shaughnessy of, the Globe I believe.

He started the thing to "explain" why they hadn't won a title since 1918. Ignoring the fact that a majority of the time, they put a poor team on the field, he focused on the fact that everytime they made it to the World Series, they lost obviously. Each time, they were beaten by a better team. 1967 was their best shot, but I don't think that Christ himself could have hit Bob Gibson at that point. 1975 was a good shot too, but they ran into a better team. 1986 came down to the infamous Buckner grounder, and he shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with.

Any city really. That's part of the reason why a Sox/Cubs Series last year...I wouldn't have minded too much.

What can I say? I'm a fan of the Evil Empire, taking away the hopes and dreams of baseball fans across the country in revenge for the shitty 80's.

Dan Shaugnessy, who writes for the Globe, has a couple of books out about the curse. If you ever see him on TV talking about, you can just see his eyes glow with all those books he's selling. He literally seems happy about his team failing in the past.

You know, there was part of me that really, truly believed I'd never live to see this?

Enjoy tonight's win, Sox fans.

If you somehow happen to STILL lose this Series, you will NEVER hear the end of it.

"1918"...."1918"...."1918"....

If Boston wins the WS, does that mean they can start chanting "2000" to the Yankees?

The rhythm would be all off.

And as for the anti-climacticness, I don't really care

It would just be fitting that the Sox won the WS by beating the two best teams of in MLB this year, as well as the two franchises which historically gave the Sox so much trouble

No, they'll start chanting "Who's Your Daddy" instead...

TWOOOOOOOO THOUSAND! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP

(It's not perfect but you can make it work)

I think Who's Your Daddy will prevail though.

I just hope this isn't one big huge cocktease by Babe Ruth.

Two thou-sand

Three syllables, not hard. It would go to the same rhythm as "You fucked up!" or "You sold out!"

He would have gotten over it by now. The sacrilege was months ago.

If it is, He must have Mantle, DiMaggio, Munson, Gerhig all cooking up something really incredible...

Hey, the Yankees supernatural squad already had their shot and lost.

Time to let the Cardinals ghosts take a shot at it... maybe Musial has something for them

"But he's not dead!"

...well... good luck then

I wouldn't discount the possibility of the ghosts of Dizzy Dean and Ducky Medwick kicking the living shit out of the Red Sox.

I think it's safe to say it's over.

The series, the curse, the Yankees legacy, everything.

I'll never forgive this Yankee team.
