I'm looking into getting Poser 5 to help with the graphics for a planned comic book. I was just wondering if anyone here if familiar with the program or has used it. I havent been able to find a hell of a lot of info on it.

Poser 5

***Stuff you can accomplish with Poser 5***

Animated Characters - Superheroes

Photorealism

All I know is the site and the price tag. I've been tempted to buy it just because I am planning on trying to get into the gaming industry and this might be a good way to learn about animated characters and how to impliment them into a program. I provided links to Poser 5 for those who wish to know what it is without having to actually Google it.

The price tag is $209.99.

That sentence...well, "sentence"...is incomplete without the requisite "ur" in place of "your."

You have failed.

Poser is a very very very difficult program to learn and use well. You have to have a pretty decent amount of Photoshop knowledge (for texturing) and you have to have some fairly deep pockets, in order to buy pre-made textures and so on.

All of the free alternatives are REALLY second rate in comparison, so be prepared for that.

Was it you that sent me a copy, Josh, or did I yank it off the Marquette network? Either way, GOD, was I bad at it.

Well that's odd then because I had a copy somehow. I baleeted it because, let's face it, I'm a fool and I wouldn't use it anyway.

I've been spending some time with the program and so far so good. I must say the manual that came with it is pretty bad. Thankfully I was able to find a forum for it that had some tutorials. So far so good but I can see what you mean about it being hard to use.
