Popular vote now (with I forget how many precincts reporting) is Bush 53% Kerry 46%.

That's going to change for sure, but still, I'm going to have a laugh if when it's all said & done Mike's popular vote prediction turned out to be the most correct out of everyone's. ;)

I'd say that Bush's percentage will stay fairly constant until they hit California.

Cali will probably tilt the popular vote 1-2% back in Kerry's favor barring something unexpected.

If Bush wins OH and FL get called soon, the west is dead for Kerry.

It saddens me that this country is filled with a bunch of clueless morons who vote like sheep for that idiot named Bush. It's going to be along 4 years if Bush wins.

The Republicans look like they might pick up a Senate seat in Louisiana.

Depends if Vitter hits 50%... which I think is likely.

Most polls had Vitter at 43-46%, Kennedy and John at 15% each, and about 20% undecided.

If enough of those Undecided voters either break for Vitter or don't vote at all, he wins.

If not, Vitter will be in a runoff next month against, most likely, Chris John.

(John Kennedy doesn't have a hope in hell, as he was clueless as the head of the LA Department Of Revenue and only won as Treasurer because the incumbent, Ken Duncan, got caught with his hand in the till)

Bush up 7% in Florida with 53% in

Bush up 6% in Ohio with 8% in so that one is WELL early.

Kerry crushing Bush by 30% in PA with 7% in

Early totals

Bush 153

Kerry 112

If Bush gets Florida and Ohio...it's over.

Many, myself included, could be asking individuals like you "How can you vote for John Kerry?!?!", but we do not, because we are civil enough to respect your choice of candidates.

I ask that you have that same respect for those who support Bush.

I doubt you will.

No sour grapes if Kerry loses, okay?

And now they're debating the accuracy of exit polls.

This is just silly.

I still don't fully understand this. People keep mentioning exit polls, and how they could be inaccurate. Can someone explain that to me?

Exit polling's accuracy is questionable for a few reasons:

1. Location of precincts chosen- Urban precincts are more likely to break for Dems than suburban or rural precincts

2. Cherry-picking of precincts- Are they picking heavily Dem or Republican precincts or are they picking middle-of-the-road ones?

3. Absentee balloting- The polling only counts walk-up voters, NOT absentee voters.

4. Early voting- Exit polling tends to cover only ELECTION DAY voting and not early voting.

I just want to comment on michigan... until Wayne county chimes in, results so far are not necessarily indictive of how the state will go. CNN.com shows where the votes are coming (what precincts)... Wayne County is still white (that's where Detroit and a huge block of population is) as is Washenataw County, which is where Ann Arbor is (college town, home of UofM, quite liberal). Between those two counties, and wherever Lansing is, THAT is where most of Michigan's population is.

I'm curious, who decided Bush was red and Kerry was blue?

ABC gives Louisiana and Mississippi to Bush.

With 1% reporting?!?!?

God damn, calling early aren't they?

Mississippi is up to 10%...

As for Louisiana, Kerry gave up there a LONG time ago and the initial numbers (and, apparently, exit polling) show Bush up 60-40 or higher.

Bush now needs 105 to win.

It's been said before, but if he wins Ohio & Florida - forget it, it's over for Kerry.

If Bush wins one or the other, Kerry still has a rough time.

If Kerry wins one, he has a decent chance of winning, I think. If not, nail in the coffin.
