NoCalMike, me, "a gimmick poster?" I don't think so.

 

Firstly, I'm glad everyone loved the poem. Have you ever wrote something absurd about something absurd? Well, I have and some of you've read it. War is absurd. Now that I've explained the reason why I wrote what I wrote. . .

 

Bush won reelection. Why? Jesus freaks didn't get out the vote for him in greater numbers than they did in 2K. Did you think so? I did too, at first. Was it first-time or new voters? No. Bush and Senator Kerry gained about the same number of each of them. What Bush did was what President Clinton did in 1992 and again in 1996. He stole voters from his rival party's old stand-bys. Kerry managed to squander well over 5% of the atheist vote, the Hispanic vote and the women vote. He even lost a few percentage points of the African-American vote.

 

So, while I voted for Ralph Nader 'cause I can't stand the sight of the two-party system, I tip my hat to Bush and Karl Rove and the Republicans. They've given the Democrats a dose of their own medicine. It's usually the Democrats who scare voters into voting for them. This time it was the Republicans.

 

Kerry might've won had his campaign not been the worst one in the last 30 years. Nobody knew who Kerry was. He couldn't get behind enough issues to tell people. Kerry spoke about Mary Cheney "being who she was." When was Kerry ever who he is? You tell me 'cause I don't know that he ever was. The other thing is Kerry never defended himself vehemently against the charges brought by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. He waited way too long to address their charges, and when he finally addressed them his response was incoherent.

 

Bush may be ignorant but Bush supporters and Kerry supporters always knew who Bush was. Plus, Bush and the Republicans did with personal attacks against him what the wise man always does: address them one time, deny them and never speak of them again.

 

I'm looking forward to 2008 as long as it spells the end of political nepotism in American politics. Don't you dare speak the name Senator Hillary Clinton to me. She doesn't exist and neither does Governor Jeb Bush. It'd be pretty freaking sweet if the 2008 presidential election mirrored the 2004 Illinois Senate Race--black on black. Yeah, I know I'm dreaming but it's a beautiful dream.

Maybe if you came onto this board as a newbie and actually just tried to take place in conversation instead of making topics about your stupid poem, (this isn't your damn Angelfire page) and making a new topic to make a rebuttal (and a long, rambling statement) people would respect you a little more.

That topic wasn't about my "stupid poem." It was a parody of the absurd nature of this war. No one except NoCalMike got that. Oh well, I'll live. I don't have "a damn Angelfire page," nor do I desire to have one in the future. I didn't post "a new topic to make a rebuttal." "Long?" No. "Rambling?" No. I don't give a flying monkey if colorless words on a computer screen "respect" me or not.

 

As for my chosen name, my last name is Keele; I added the 'basa' part. I wasn't "trying to make some obscure pun." My last name isn't especially "obscure." It's rare, yes, but not obscure.

I wasn't. I don't appreciate either party's scare tactics. Oh, and I wouldn't dream of monopolizing those scare tactics. As I believe I previously stated, or something along these lines, Democrats are traditionally the ones who scare voters into voting for them--minorities, Seniors, etc. . . Fortunately, young people aren't easily scared, mainly 'cause their attention isn't easily gained let alone kept. You can count on me to never open "a can of shit," at least not intentionally.

So I'm "one of the wild and crazy guys?" I've been called worse. Thanks. I've "nothing insightful to add?" Is that assessment only temporary or is it permanent? When and where was everything I said "been said already?" How was I supposed to know? In theory, every post ahead of mine and behind mine has "been said already" somewhere or other. Why should anyone post at all?
