BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 damn, was hoping the 20% sale wouldn't come till after christmas when I have a nice chunk of cash to spend, all my money is tied up in pre-orders right now, blah.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 I think it's very cheap of them having this sale earlier this year than they did last. I think it's obvious that they did so in order to not allow the discount for upcoming major items, like the Seinfeld sets. Still, I'll pick up a few things for sure anyway. You should be happy they do this in the first place
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2004 Well, I had a huge list of DVDs that are great deals, but my computer shut down on me. To sum it up, check out WWE DVDs, SNL DVDs, Andy Griffith Season One, Eerie Indiana Complete Series, and other things like that.

You should be happy they do this in the first place Blah blah blah. I appriciate them doing the sale. I don't appriciate them having it earlier this year just so you can't get a few of the upcoming high profile releases for cheaper. Especially considering the absolute hell DDD made many of their customers go through recently, including me.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 Holy crap, all of you here should buy this one right now! It's Christopher Nolan's first film, and if you enjoyed Memento, or his other work, you will love that movie. I can't believe it's so cheap now, I gave $25 for it. Following - $4.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 Thanks for the heads up, DH. I have been wanting to expand my admittedly tiny DVD collection and I have a couple hundred bucks in extra cash at the moment. Since I likely won't have any extra money for another 14 years, I might as well get what I can now. By the way, are you planning on posting any more cheap video game deals? Cheapassgamer.com takes forever to load on my slow PC, and even when it does, I rarely see anything good. Anyway man, thanks again for bringing the money saving content as you often do. My (usually) broke ass is very appreciative.
Guest Smues Report post Posted November 16, 2004 I just ordered Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection 6 for like $28 after the discount and with free shipping. After the 16th (when my credit card ticks over to the next billing period) i'll be getting southpark seasons 1-4 for $92. Viva la free shipping.

Cheapassgamer.com takes forever to load on my slow PC, and even when it does, I rarely see anything good. In the Sears paper next week, they have Ace Combat 5 listed in the $4.99 section, obviously a misprice, but if you are lucky you might be able to get a WalMart to price match it for you. I sure as hell know I'm going to try and do just that. I might put together some good deals and post em some time.

yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 Anyone else having trouble with the site? The other night when I would go to check out, I'd get an error. Today it's working except, it removes all but two items from my cart when I hit checkout, AND it's showing me as not using the promo code. I'm getting mad
Guest Evolution Report post Posted November 16, 2004 Yeah, DDDVD has been malfunctioning a little bit for me as well, but I was able to order Following yesterday after much struggling.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 I just tried a little experiment. I called and told them I wanted to order both Seinfeld sets, and asked if I could use the coupon, and they told me yes. I even went to the end of the process, and they told me the final price with the 20% off discount. Just a heads up. So it is POSSIBLE to have pre-orders work with the coupon. You just have to call, and hope that you get a stupid CS rep. 800-264-5076
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 17, 2004 The site is having problems because of the sale. The same thing happens every time they do this sale. Last few days I had trouble with it, but other than a tad slow it's working fine today.

notJames 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2004 Just caught this thread at the literal 11th hour... 12.20 am Saturday to be exact. I had been waiting so long to hear about some kind of promotion like this, and silly me hasn't been in this forum fo a while. Needless to say I put a little dent in my wallet but I finally got a bunch of DVDs I'd been wanting for a while now. 8 DVDs for about $105. Unfortunately, 3 of them (Clerks X, City of God and Big Fish were backorders, so I'll be waiting a while longer for them. But all in all, I'm pretty psyched. Thanks for keeping us all posted, Downhome.
