strummer Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 from PWI: WWE got great news in the Raw rating when the number came in at a 3.9 cable rating, with a 5.7 share. The show did hours of 3.9 and 3.9 and was the best figure that they have done in a while for the show. In other ratings news, The WWE Experience did a 0.5 cable rating, with a 1.4 share. The pre-PPV edition of Heat did a 0.8 cable rating, with a 1.2 share. Velocity did a 0.5 cable rating, with a 1.1 share.
razazteca Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Tajiri vs Eugene was what drew the ratings.
slimm44 Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Nice...their stock also went up the past few days, just for those stock brokers on here lol
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I won't use the "Post PPV" excuse anymore, because the last few RAW's that followed a PPV did pretty lame ratings, so this is a "OK, maybe this idea DID work".
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 HHH loses = ratings
Australian Pride Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Looks like Main Event Maven is a winning idea.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Maven for World Champion!
Guest Bad Brad Jacobs Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 i dont know if it was maven personally that spiked ratings...i think it was probably just the idea that a title could change and that the faces finally have the upper hand on raw for the first time in a while and it looks like evolution is falling apart..
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I'm gonna get flamed for this, but... maybe it was HHH. When was the last time they had him put the belt on the line in the main event and advertise it all night?
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 "Dude, did you hear what happened at Survivor Series? Evolution lost and now Jericho, Benoit, Orton, and Maven have control of Raw for a month!" "Evolution lost? I should watch and see how they screw HHH over!" Everytime HHH does a job, the ratings go up.
Downhome Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Maven still means shit. Any face could have been in his posistion and the ratings would have been the same, or higher. Maven didn't bring the ratings, the booking and overall situation brought the ratings.
Exslade ZX Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Nah...you're all wrong. Christian's new jacket = ratings.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 People tuned in to watch which wrestler would control Raw and what they would do with the power. If there is any sign that wrestling fans are dying for a change, this is it.
Guest Phenom Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Adam Copeland flipping us off = ratings.
razazteca Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 The tease of Gene Snitsky joining Evolution = ratings
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 People tuned in to watch which wrestler would control Raw and what they would do with the power. If there is any sign that wrestling fans are dying for a change, this is it. I can't disagree with that. I was more interested in this show than I have been for any week since the Benoit/HHH Iron Match in August.
Guest Brian Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I watched for Edge and Christian. Who wouldn't?
Lord of The Curry Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 If we get Benoitjamin wrestling again next week I'll be tuning in for sure.
NoCalMike Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I think it is the fact that people want the belt off of Triple H, and when there is somewhat of a chance of that happening, people are going to tune in to see it. I would imagine the next few weeks, Triple H will be defending his title, so we shall see how the ratings go.
Guest QUP2CME Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I think it was just a well booked show. From the Tag team straps being placed on Regal/Eugene to E&C re-uniting for the night to Maven first wrestling with himself and then HHH. Let's hope the trend continues. Potentially we still have Jericho V HHH and Benoit V HHH. I'm most interested in what Orton is going to do because he cant challenge for the belt because of that stipulation.
Lightning Flik Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 You know what? I just realized that I can see what Orton books for the final week of his SS team winning. HHH© vs. Benoit vs. vs. Maven vs. Jericho in an Elimination Match. And on top of that, the face wins and RKO then says that as long as so and so holds the title HHH can never gain a shot at the World title. Just to toss it back in HHH's face. Of course, then RKO books himself a World Title match against said face opponent. At least that's what I'm thinking RKO will do.

Said ratings through the roof floor.
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 If this was real (HA! wrestling is so fake) Orton SHOULD book that match, and the 3 of them would beat the piss out of Hunter and pin him in a minute since it's Elimination rules. Instead, we'll get Batista vs. Triple H in a Steroid on a Pole Match.
nl5xsk1 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 There's a good chance the fact that the Monday Night Football game was a complete blowout (and relatively early) had an effect on the ratings, too. Most of America probably tuned out when Philly started lighting the Cowboys up.
Guest whipper Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Monday night football mis-match = ratings?
Lil' Bitch Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Or Randy could book HHH in a handicapped match against Batista, Edge, AND Snitsky. And if any of them refuse to do the match, they are FIIIIIIIIIIIREEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!! At least that's what I would do to get back at him.

SuperJerk Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Maybe people were so offended by the opening to Monday Night Football that RAW picked up many of those viewers.
