Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I got this, and will be randomly playing tracks from it on my radio show Sunday evening, starting at 9pm, EST (I'm scheduled for one hour, but, if the last two weeks have been any indication, I can do two if I desire). More info: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&t...10:9yem97wfkr5t http://www.rhinorecords.com/store/ProductD...so?Number=76490 That's 82 songs, man. I've listened to every disc; less than dozen are merely "feh" and I flat-out dislike one of them (Depeche Mode's "Black Celebration"—though I should note I've always hated that band). The remaining 70-or-so, however, range from good to great, and I'll be fitting in as many of them as I can. I'll provide a link to listen sometime on Sunday.
MrRant Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Indie snob music if Inc is listening to it.
Nighthawk Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I don't care for that box set because I'm only interested in compilations of things where I wouldn't be interested in the whole. I like that kind of music anyway, I don't need it condensed.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 21, 2004 Author Report Posted November 21, 2004 Yeah, but I'll be playing stuff from it on the air.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 21, 2004 Author Report Posted November 21, 2004 Hey, I've noticed, based on the very few times I've made a thread about my show, that it tends to not attract as many listeners compared to the times I simply hijack some other thread to plug my show. I may be going about this the wrong way.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 21, 2004 Author Report Posted November 21, 2004 I'm just gonna keep hijacking threads, then.
Henry Spencer Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I can never remember what time your show is in my time zone. I also require a link.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 22, 2004 Author Report Posted November 22, 2004 I'm on from 8-11pm, EST, tonight, so as of this post. http://stream.unf.edu:8080/ramgen/wosp/wosp.smil

Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 22, 2004 Author Report Posted November 22, 2004 This show's so awesome, you dudes just don't know. Though one of our CD players really doesn't like the first disc.
Henry Spencer Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I don't have the right software to listen to your show, apparently. I know a lot of those songs, though, so I'm imaging the awesomeness right now.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 22, 2004 Author Report Posted November 22, 2004 All it takes is realplayer.
Henry Spencer Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Realplayer doesn't work on my computer.

Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 22, 2004 Author Report Posted November 22, 2004 Red Hot Chili Peppers? Egads. That song is a passable Sly and the Family Stone knockoff; plus, I paired it with "We Care a Lot," serving as a fond reminder of the kind of music I liked when I was 13. Had I thought of it at the time, I would've thrown that Jane's Addiction song in there, too.
Nighthawk Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I listen to the same things I listened to when I was 13. Plus many other things, but the same things.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 24, 2004 Author Report Posted November 24, 2004 Sometimes I wonder if you suffer from a form of autism, IDRM.
Dobbs 3K Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I want that box set badly. For someone who asked earlier, as you might tell from the bands, it is a compilation of post-punk/new-wave underground classics from the 80s (there may be a little bit of late '70s stuff in there, but I'm not sure).
notJames Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 I used to play that stuff on my college radio show ('89-'94). Decent stuff, although if they were going for definitive songs for certain bands, I would have made a few different choices.
