Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Got that one in New York, too. The one that's a reproduction of the On the Corner cover is far cooler, though. I have that one too, actually.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Hey, I'm plugging my radio show in this post. Last proper one of the year. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 I'll be spinning some Dwarves and N.W.A., too.
godthedog 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 mangum's lyrics a lot of times are maddeningly vague, but i'd never call it dull. he's taken up that lost bob dylan art of throwing together a lot of random vivid imagery and calling it a song. the most cathartic albums i can think of off the top of my head: beatles, 'abbey road' john lennon, 'plastic ono band' nirvana, 'unplugged in new york' jeff buckley, 'grace' i can't really explain that last one. not an "oh my god i'm going to cry" experience, but whenever i listen to it i feel drained by the end. probably something about his voice. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 I didn't mean to say Mangum's lyrics were dull so much as the music plods at times.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Man, I worked for a couple days and the thread has TAKEN OFF AGAIN~! At work tonight, I rediscoverd that I fucking HATE the band Yes. They just seem like they're trying way to hard to be some sort of Pink Floyd/King Crimson hybrid. Though Chris Squire is an excellent bassist.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 I picked up Local H Whatever Happened To P.J. Soles for 10 bucks, and this has to be on of the best albums of the year. You sir, are correct. That album fucking jams from beginning to end. I can listen to "Buffalo Trace" and "Halcyon Days" all day long.
