Fuck Monster Magnet. I got tickets to their show at Hampton Beach Casino & Ballroom w/Motorhead, and heard that MM isn't going to play after all. So now I'm stuck with tickets to a show that I really don't want to see.

 

And this is the 4th local show that Monster Magnet had announced and then canceled in the last year or so.

Fuck Monster Magnet. I got tickets to their show at Hampton Beach Casino & Ballroom w/Motorhead, and heard that MM isn't going to play after all. So now I'm stuck with tickets to a show that I really don't want to see.

 

And this is the 4th local show that Monster Magnet had announced and then canceled in the last year or so.

Now, I'm not sure. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Doolittle, Blonde On Blonde, The Soft Bulletin, Enter The 36 Chambers, and Odyssey & Oracle are all in contention, no doubt.

I know that's him singing on "Margaret Freeman" from the original album, but I wasn't aware he did anything new for the DVD release.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon of naming your favourite album now. For the longest time, it was Disintegration, but I now think it's London Calling. I listened to it for the first time in about two moths today and decided that it's my favourite, along with being fucking flawless from beginning to end.

In order to decide which is my favorite, I should listen to nothing but Rain Dogs and Seamonsters for the rest of the week. Of course, this could end up backfiring, causing me to hate both albums. Hm.

 

Anyway, this is a big enough breakthrough for me, as I used to never be able to narrow down an all-time favorite list to less than five.

London Calling is my roommate's number one and way up there for me, too. The U.S. version of the self-titled is loads superior to the U.K. version.

I have no desire to see Motorhead again. Seen 'em once, and it was more than enough. I skipped them when they played with Maiden, and would have skipped them in Hampton, too, by just leaving after Monster Magnet.

Never heard it. Whether your comment was sarcasm or not (no offence btw) I can't help but compare every punk album to Pink Flag. And I know what wins.

 

In other news, an album which is certainly not in contention is Spiderland. It's good. Very good. But I don't like it half as much as anyone else seems to. Suicide is very high as far as my personal punk rankings go, and I've only had it a few weeks.

My punk rock obsessed friend insists that if you cut Sandinista! down to one disc with the choice songs, it's the perfect album. The prospect of listening to the whole thing several times in order to do so is one that I am not willing to face, so has anybody here done it?
