Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 I heard that they're called Backstreet Men now. Don't know if there's any truth to that rumour, someone told me they heard it mentioned by one of the members on the radio.
CBright7831 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 As long as *N'SYNC does not resurface, I think the world will be fine. I actually somewhat respect Justin Timberlake for turning down the *N'SYNC reunion tour idea.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Do American folks like The Streets? People trying to be snobs in the UK loathe him, but they're very wrong. Not a lot of people here dig The Streets ... and by "here" I mean both the States and TSM. I dig him, though. And a few pages ago I complained about being stuck going to Motorhead ... and the show was surprisingly good. The funniest part: Triple H announced them, and got pretty much NO reaction from the audience. And two different times Lemmy mentioned him, and again, he got no reaction. I kept thinking he was going to come out, but I think that due to the tepid response, he figured it made more sense to stay behind the scenes.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Well, he did say ass immediately after that "BUTT" thing. And Ice Cube ghostwrote most of that stuff anyway. But I agree with you, Eazy ain't much to write home about. I kind of dig his nasally whine, though. Agreed ... on the first part, at least. You can't blame Eazy for having shit lines, he wrote very little of his own stuff. Blame Cube. And I like a lot of Eazy's rhymes on on 187-Kill 'Um (or whatever that one was called, the one that's really nothing but a slam on Dre) whoever wrote for him then did a great job. I would say it's more based on Eazy E's delivery deciding how Cube would write his lyrics...he's known as the comedy guy of the team, the add-in guy, like ODB for Wu Tang and Flava for Public Enemy...Cube's NWA and early solo lyrics are solid gold...he didn't get shitty until after The Predator... Oh and TRL still refers to Backstreet as Boys, not Men...not that they're the authority or anything, just saying...I think they should go with just plain Backstreet...the name of the new Backstreet single is "Incomplete" Nsync should definenlty NOT go on without Justin, though I've always prefered JC Chasez's vocals over his... Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 I was tempted to check it out because I did like that one single that got little airtime on MTV, but never got around to it...
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 I was impressed, mainly because there was no good reason it didn't sell. It's as good as Justin's.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Transexual punk rocker and cult icon Wayne/Jayne County's backup band was called the Backstreet Boys. Just FYI.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 The latest album from Boris, a stoner/doom metal band from Japan, sports this cover: Normally, parody artwork does little for me, but this one made me lol.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 After deciding I felt like it not long ago, I bought Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and listened to it in it's entierty for the first time in probably three years. Nearly every song brought me back to something that happened in school. An ex gf once told me the song "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" reminded her of us, and when it came on I cried like a baby. I should probably go put an earring in my right ear. I like disc two better.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 The Backstreet Boys just finished up a club tour, I think. I'm listening to Mr. Bungle for the first time. Disco Volante. Good stuff that I like better than any other Mike Patton project I've heard, perhaps with the exception of the Dillinger Escape Plan EP.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 Are Modest Mouse any good live? There's some kind of festival in Toronto in July w/ them, Broken Social Scene and others coming up.

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 God bless Edwin for putting me on to M.I.A. Fire fire. Was just listening to this on a ride back from IHOP, "Fire Fire" specifically. It's getting better, even.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I guess Local H covered Britney Spears Toxic, and they did a good job in covering it. Also found and acoustic version of Boys Don't Cry by the Cure. I enjoy that version more than the original.
Guest Derek Bailey Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I saw a minature keyboard in the £1 store. It had about 5 sounds. I could really kick some ass with that, I feel. Poundland? I got one of those. I plan to fuck with its innards and hopefully get some evil noise from it, once I find a screwdriver suitable for opening it up. I doubt it would survive me cracking the casing open, since it sounds like there are already a few dozen loose parts hanging around in there.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 The board search engine informs me that this is one of only three threads in its history that have referred to Tom Waits' Nighthawks at the Diner, which I'm listening to presently. His Swordfishtrombones and beyond stuff is obviously the more manifestly weird, but the whole live-lounge-act thing he does here is just as odd a listen in its own right. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 I sometimes wish Morrissey had stuck with the rockabilly schtick. 'Pregnant For the Last Time' and 'Sing Your Life' are really fun, and they suited him and his band.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 My friend Karthik, who I used to play in a band with back in Illinois, has a friend from his university who looks a lot like Ashlee. It's too bad that he and I didn't get back in touch til after I moved. He could've hooked me up.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted May 7, 2005 I too got a Courtney Love vibe, at least from the first picture. As for your friend, wow. She does look identical to her. ...she could make a lot of money off releasing a porn video, I reckon.
