Guest Adam Ryland Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 I don't know if anyone's interested, but my new game Wrestling Spirit is out (I'm the guy who did the Extreme Warfare series of games BTW). It's a career game where you take control of a wrestler and guide him through his matches, contract negotiations, etc. It's available at Grey Dog Software - there's a free demo on the site to try, and a forum where you can read the feedback it has gotten from fans so far. Thank you for your time. Adam
Matt Young Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 I loved the EW series so I'll definitely be checking this out. Thanks for the heads-up, Adam.
Lightning Flik Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Wasn't expecting Adam to show up here to promote his game. Cool. I played the demo of this and I thought it was a pretty neat game. Demo's a little short (a month in game of playing time) but I got a good handle for it. BTW, its a lot better than TEW in terms of menus and overall presentation. Gameplay is totally different though as Wrestling Spirit is about you taking a newbie to wrestling and making them a legend.
Guest Adam Ryland Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Glad you liked the new presentation, it was designed with the feedback from TEW in mind. The idea is that TEW2005 will then in turn take the improvements that WreSpi has shown - cleaner interface, faster times, easier database management - and take them a further step forward, and so forth.

I bought the game but it won't run on the computer, something about missing a file

Heh. Well, I'm glad you took the time to fix up the presentation. I didn't really mind TEWs, it was just the menus were a little clunky at certain points. And I'll be happy when TEW2005 comes out. Oh, will TEW2005 have online capabilities, or is that still off? Cause I'd love to play against some of my buddies online without having to swap files... Yeah, I know, I know. This is about WreSpi, my bad. But seriously, I like this game. Its quite quick and easy to pick up and go with. I toyed around with the Rookie to Legend Mode's different features of size and types of wrestlers and found it interesting that stats were quite different depending on what you choosed for them. It was a nice touch. Wish I had some money as I'd probably buy this game.
Guest Adam Ryland Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I bought the game but it won't run on the computer, something about missing a file You'll need to tell me which file it said, or I can't really help you...

Dobbs 3K Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I played the demo this morning. I tried to create a Lightweight wrestler with good technical skills, and a little high flying mixed in. It seemed like he did really badly though. I wrestled four matches, and lost all of them. Is that normal for a new guy though? He did pretty well in three of the matches, and pretty much got squashed in the fourth against a "hoss" type.

You've downloaded the wrong thing. There are two retail files for download - one is the full game, but the other is just a patch for people who had already downloaded the demo, and is simply a replacement EXE file. You've downloaded the latter, and therefore are missing all the other files. You need to download the full game.

the max Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Adam, since you're answering questions here, where can I find EWR 1.4 for download? I've scoured the internet, but have been unsuccessful in finding it.
King Cucaracha Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Estimated Time: 2hr 12 min. Ouch. I need a new computer.
Guest Adam Ryland Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Adam, since you're answering questions here, where can I find EWR 1.4 for download? I've scoured the internet, but have been unsuccessful in finding it. Sorry no idea, I don't even have a copy.

I've scoured the internet, but have been unsuccessful in finding it. Sorry no idea, I don't even have a copy. I also don't have it, but I do have EWR 4.0 (the last one), as well as the two patches for it. Anyone who needs those, drop me a PM with your e-mail. (As long as you're okay with it, boss! Good to see you here, btw!)
1234-5678 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 This game is definitely a lot of fun to play, and I plan on purchasing it as soon as I get back to work.
Guest PlatinumBoy Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 It's well worth the buy. Great game Adam... I liked EWR, but I like this much better, as I can control just one guy and work him up to the majors. Best match I've put on so far was a B+ aganist one of the female wrestlers (and I'm male). Choosing the move set and all that stuff is fun--it's somewhat early and I sound jumbled, but basically--good game. Edited to say: I just won my first title, the NYCW Empire title in March of 2007.
