RavishingRickRudo Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 fdasokfapodsiugfodsafpoisj!!!!!!!!!!!1 holy SHIT!
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I think London broke his neck there.
JoeDirt Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Matthews even busted out a "holy shit" for that one.
Guest Mr. Wrestling Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I just have to wonder how the current AWA feels about WWE using their old footage. And yes, the AWA IS still around. Vince owns the footage so he can do whatever he wants with it. Dale Gagner's AWA has NOTHING to do with Gagne's AWA. Even though Gagner likes to blow smoke out of his ass to say that it does. The AWA's last match as the Turkey on a Pole match where Colonel DeBeers lost. Vince McMahon owns the true AWA and Dale Gagner can take his fake AWA and shove it up his ass.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 That wasn't really a fuck up, he just had horrible positioning in the ring.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted December 5, 2004 Author Report Posted December 5, 2004 Who do you blame that on? WAS IT even a "fuck up?" Or a really cool realistic way for Akio to take control?
AndrewTS Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 London: Stay away from the Japanese photographer.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 They need to do an Akio/London feud. Now.
Guest Fook_Theta Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I thought someone said this match was good? If that wasn't a botch job, they've got me slightly fooled. Spiked himself.

Actually the AWA was still putting on shows AFTER the Turkey Match...they just were held in front of like 5 people.
AndrewTS Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Cruisers kicking the crap out of each other--haven't seen that in a long time.

Plus titlehistory pages (www.solie.org/titlehistories/index.html) say that AWA's title history is the same through the two versions.
Guest Fook_Theta Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 So I guess this means London is getting pushed? Or will he be fired for not working safe?
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 London KILLS Akio with a DDT...nice finish.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 JOIUJFLKASHFJOIUIDK HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 OK Vince, put these two on Smackdown and keep them there. This is the best, what, 5-6 minute match I've seen in a long time. Holy crap TOP ROPE DDT!
JoeDirt Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Sick DDT to end it. These guys need to be on top of the cruiserweight division. They're fresher than the other cruiserweights at this point.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 And I still say Paul London looks like a young Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Am I the only one in that boat?
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 JOIUJFLKASHFJOIUIDK HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! Are you doing that in a mocking way?
Nevermortal Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Good match. I approve of Paul London taking neckbumps and giving stiff kicks.
JoeDirt Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I was hoping London would get to bust out his gorgeous SSP. Good stuff, people don't usually see stiff exchanges like that one in the WWE.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 And I still say Paul London looks like a young Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Am I the only one in that boat? Nope. If he was a little tanner he'd look just like the Dragon.
AndrewTS Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 And I still say Paul London looks like a young Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Am I the only one in that boat? Did a young Steamboat have that hair?
Guest Fook_Theta Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 The object of a wrestling match is to give the other guy headdrops, not taking them yourself. They should have changed the finish to that match no matter what. The kicking spot was way off, even on an indy show, much less on WWE programming. I want to see high flying smart cruisers, not possible botchjobs and bad ring psyche.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Yes, I am doing it in a mocking way. ^^^^ (Mocking way) Of course not - that rope fuck up was one of the sickest things I've seen since Fedor got spiked by Randleman. The DDT was great. If I were to mock something in that match, it would be Mathews busting out every indy cliche in the book (cept, of course, the "this is WRESTLING, not some Entertainment crap). 5 star match? Check. Knowing each other so well? Check. The odd thing is, Mathews and Demott are by far the best team in the WWE.
CanadianChick Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 That was a fun match. But please, let's avoid the Sabu-ish head bumps. Especially with someone as talented as London. And I did love that finish.
Slickster Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 We just saw the Match of the Week between London and Akio. Who says you can't have a great match with the WWE Style?

They should have changed the finish to that match no matter what. The kicking spot was way off, even on an indy show, much less on WWE programming. I want to see high flying smart cruisers, not possible botchjobs and bad ring psyche. I want to see something different and exciting. Save the smart shit for the wrestlers who have to wrestle smart cause they can't do anything else.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Yes, I am doing it in a mocking way. ^^^^ (Mocking way) Of course not - that rope fuck up was one of the sickest things I've seen since Fedor got spiked by Randleman. Ah...got a mixed feeling with the "fidrfhfg;lawsjask" jibberish I would use to mock something said that was either lame or stupid. And now a recap of the Deadman Never Jobbing vs. JBL and the Token Black Guy Getting a Push.
