therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Calm yourself man. We're still in good shape. We have Westbrook and McNabb will run now that he doesn't have TO. He can do some great things with his legs. The defense is better. We'll be fine. Calm....meditate. Hey Dama, the receivers HAVE to catch something. Have you watched Pinkston run away from passes out of fear of contact in the past 2 weeks? I still think they can win the NFC just because it's so bad this year. The Super Bowl is a whole other issue now.

The Super Bowl is a whole other issue now. Well TO may be back for the Super Bowl. Besides on top of that Brian Westbrook can catch something, he is a threat. And yes Pinkston blows. He makes it a clinic on how to drop passes. But honestly I think they're still in good shape. And the NFC is bad enough for them to make it to the Super Bowl. Do I want it that way? No I don't but at this point I'll take whatever.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 I have a sinking feeling the Birds are gonna roll into the NFC Title Game and get dealt the dreaded "7-3" score all game long til Donovan throws a pick. I can't fucking believe this has happened. Don't get me wrong I'm going to the games, I'll be in "They're NOT losing" mode soon....but still, reality is reality. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Well TO may be back for the Super Bowl. Besides on top of that Brian Westbrook can catch something, he is a threat. Teams are going to be keying in on Westbrook now since they're basically unafraid of the receivers until they actually do something. The tight ends(Lewis and Smith) have to step it up, and if the defense can keep playing well, they should be able to make it past the divisionals and into the championship game. Personally, now I would like to see Green Bay win on Friday at Minnesota and Seattle win the West, since I think they would be the best opponents for the Eagles in the divisionals considering Minnesota's history in big games on the road and Seattle not being able to stop anyone defensively. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Finally the Eagle fans just might shut the fuck up when they run their blown-playoff game streak to 4. I'll be proud of their season either way. It's already going to be our best record ever, and we went undefeated against the NFC East for the first time ever (yeah I know that doesn't mean shit this year.) Sledge, stop sounding like how every asshole on 610 WIP probably sounds right now. T.O. got hurt, it isn't the fuckin apocalypse. All we need is McNabb continuing his career year, Westbrook staying explosive, Freddie/Todd/Greg to step it up a notch, Chad/LJ to keep getting open, Lito/Sheldon to keep surpassing expectations and for Trotter/Dawkins/Kearse to keep the D motivated. With Jim Johnston as our defensive coordinator, we have a shot to stop any of the offenses in the AFC. Not very likely, but it is still a shot.

He should be seeing a lot more of the ball in the next couple weeks anyways, I'd barely play Westbrook past the 1st half. McNabb either.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Some of the Eagle fans act like the sky has collapsed. Glad to see some of you are calm as sunshine. This MIGHT be exactly what the Eagles needed to get into the Super Bowl. Now people will be doubting them winning without Owens. Might be just the push they need. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 I just saw a bunch of jackasses on the local Philly news. "IT'S OVER! IT'S ALL OVER MAN!" They know absolutely nothing about football, and even with their bleak predictions, the fucking bandwagon jumpers will be right there if we do win the Super Bowl, claiming they have been there all along. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 I'm remaining calm 2GOLD b/c I still think we're solid. Yes TO was a big part of the turnaround but i think over the season they've learned to do what it takes to win and I think now without him they'll just keep finding ways. I think they're good enough and talented enough to still do it. And I'm going to remain calm through the Super Bowl b/c it's not all over yet.

God I hate our local news. They were going into full panic today. I hate Howard Eskin, but he made the greatest point today. The NFC is so bad that they can still win it. I dislike the Eagles but have been a fan of McNabb since his days at the Cuse, so I'd love to see him finally shut up his detractors. He's got the perfect script in his hands. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Who is going to catch the ball for Philly? The Wide Receivers on the Eagles have 15 touchdowns. TO had 14 of those 15. There's room to panic. Birds have an awesome defense, but maybe, just maybe, some of us are upset because one of the MVP candidates is out for the year (he's not coming back, this is a guarantee, don't get smokestormed, its a fucking broken bone and tear in pro football) and he deserved to be there for the Super Bowl. Do I think the Birds will win the NFC? YES. Do I think the Birds can score 20+ points in the Super Bowl? NO. And they'll need to.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Personally, now I would like to see Green Bay win on Friday at Minnesota and Seattle win the West, since I think they would be the best opponents for the Eagles in the divisionals considering Minnesota's history in big games on the road and Seattle not being able to stop anyone defensively. I think you meant you want Minnesota to win? And you could consider Minnesota's history in big games, PERIOD, not just on the road. Their last two appearances in the NFC Championship game (both played at the Metrodome) are proof enough of that. I'd love to see Green Bay beat Philly when it counts. It's a laughable statement, but man I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it if it happened. Even if Green Bay got stomped on in the Super Bowl by NE/Pittsburgh/Indy/whoever the fuck would go. AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Everybody is saying this is the death nell for the Eagles, but they seem to forget how SHITTY the NFC is this year. I still think the Eagles are gonna go to the Super Bowl, I don't see any other NFC team, except maybe, MAYBE the Falcons, beating the Eagles.

Their last two appearances in the NFC Championship game (both played at the Metrodome) are proof enough of that. The NFC North winner probably will get the #3 seed and if they win, they're guaranteed to go to Atlanta for the second round. And the Vikings lost the NFC Championship game in 2000 at New York. Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Roy, who's detracting McNabb? He's been the league's best quarterback for a couple years. It hasn't been as loud this year, but he still gets the "overrated" or "can't win the big one" tag from some sportswriters, and a lot of those same pundits have gone out of their way to credit TO with a larger share of McNabb's success this year and not just admit that it's an equal partnership. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's been the NFL's best over the past couple years though. Manning has a very strong argument.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 I HATE the Eagles and I am a huge Falcons fan, and I'm totally bummed by T.O.'s injury. I wanted the Eagles to be at full strength so that there would be no excuses if they choked again, and now any intrigue that the NFC playoff picture had is out the window. Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Very interesting develoment for Phili and my Fantasy Football team. Losing TO is huge. When your best WR is your RB, Westbrook, after TO, that might make winning the NFC very hard for the Eagles. Even though I think the AFC winner will be the Super Bowl champ, I really thought this was Phili's year to get over the NFC playoff hump, with TO giving McNabb a go-to WR he has lacked before this season. I think you see McNabb running the ball more, as the Mitchell and Pinkston tandem are just not going to do it for the Eagles. If I was an Eagle's fan, I am definately nervous, because as I read, the Eagles after TO went down, looked just like last year's team. So the Eagles will need Westbrook and McNabb to carry the load, and hope their Def is good enough to shut down their oppanants, which might not be enough, but the NFC is so weak this year, any team that makes it has a chance, even a sub-.500 team could win the NFC. Man, funny how the NFC dominated for so long that the balance of power is now in the AFC, solidly.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Without TO playing, a defense can bring a safety into the box to cheat on Westbrook and spy him the entire game since Pinkston and Mitchell can be covered one-on-one by my grandmother. Oh and I do dislike philly second only to Dallas, however I do think the Owens injury is unfortunate because personally, I wanted to see them blow it again at full strength so there wouldn'tbe a laundry list of excuses already planned. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 That's what happens when you like 2 teams in different conferences. What? What do the Chiefs have to do with anything? I hate the Cowboys. It just so happens that a player from my college is on the Cowboys and he injured one of my favorite players from my favorite pro team. Therefore I am sad that one of my own troops took my guy out. imajackoff? 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 With his skills deminishing at an alarming rate, Ray Lewis has become nothing more than glorified pile jumper. With all that said, it still obvious that he is a leader of men, a team player til the end. Owens is all about self. Whether its crying like a bitch after wins like he did in SF, the classless queerbaiting of Garcia, or bringing up the murders of two people just to exonerate himself from his own foolishness, its always been about HIM. In the end, he's just a silly attention whore who can really, really ball. BTW.... the silly dances dont bother me, they just show me what kind of person he is. Being from Bmore, I cant deny that I didnt have a smirk on my face when I heard the news today. He had to come here to get his 2nd MRI on Monday. Thanks for finally showing up for your physical TO.
