Guest sek69 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 If you call the Steelers' office, you might get a start next week vs Buffalo. Cowher's not going to start anyone even remotely banged up, so it's probably going to look like a preseason game next week.
mike546 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Giants can't catch a fucking break. Eight in a row. *sigh*
Guest Smues Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Giants can't catch a fucking break. Eight in a row. *sigh* yay just one more for Eli to lose this year. What's sad is with the state of the NFC 5-11 for the Giants won't guarantee San Diego a high draft pick.
megaadvice Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Does anyone who would go to the playoffs if Denver and Buffalo both finish 10 and 6?
GreatWhiteNope Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Does anyone who would go to the playoffs if Denver and Buffalo both finish 10 and 6? Denver - they would have the better conference record.
MikeJordan23 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Does anyone who would go to the playoffs if Denver and Buffalo both finish 10 and 6? Jaguars have a tie-breaker over Denver and Buffalo Denver has a tie-breaker over Buffalo Buffalo has a tie-breaker over the Jets
cabbageboy Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Man, that Colts/Chargers game today was possibly the game of the year. The Colts finally woke the fuck up in the 4th quarter with the Rhodes kickoff return and then finally the 49th TD with a minute left. My brother and I were joking that Drew Brees just HAD to throw an INT in the game, and the later he delayed the inevitable, the worse it would be. And sure enough he threw it on their last possession, though I dunno if it really hurt them all that bad. Besides, there would have been something so wrong with breaking the all time TD record in a loss to the Chargers.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Meadowlands is starting to empty as this is becoming a laugher.
Bored Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 And the 49ers are now on the clock. 41-0, perfect way to go out in front of the home fans this season. The York Family is officially now the new Bidwell Family of the NFL. I'm so not looking forward to making the playoffs twice in the next 50 years.
Agent_Bond34 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I'm so not looking forward to making the playoffs twice in the next 50 years. Me either. I guess I should be glad that my local CBS wouldn't air this game over here then, should I?
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I'm actually hoping the Bills win next week and the Broncos lose. Reasons being 1. I can't stand Mike Shannahan and his career ending O-Line. 2. That would place 3 AFC East teams into the playoffs. 3. I want there to be a chance for Bledsoe to get picked apart at The Razor again.
HarleyQuinn Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Shaun Alexander is having a monster game with 137 yards rushing and 3 TD's entering the 4th quarter...god damn.
MrRant Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 They better freaking resign him... but I'm worried what his contract demands will be and he will also be 28 next season. Note: The Seahawks are also trying to give this game to the Cardinals...
The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I'd like to say congrats to Willis McGahee. He didn't start the first 4 weeks...and also didn't start week 6 (because someone foolishly thought Travis Henry should be the starter)... and today he crossed 1,000 yards and has 11 TDs. Add in Lee Evans rookie season with 9 TDs and more clutch catches than you can shake a stick at...and the future is looking bright. Now...must find way to poison the food of the Jets and Broncos.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 It sure was nice of Fox to go to their coverage in Seattle where they made it just in time for me to watch Trent Dilfer kneel down twice.
MrRant Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Well they clinched a playoff birth... and can get at least home field if St. Louis loses any of their next two games. Luckily they play Monday against the Eagles and unfortunately I'll have to root for the Eagles.
Black Lushus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Let me get this correct...all Buffalo needs next week is for Denver to win and they have to beat Pittsburgh since Jax and Baltimore lost...right?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Buffalo gets in with a win at home against the Steelers back ups... and EITHER a Bronco loss to the Colts backups OR a Jets lost to the friggin crappy Rams. It don't look so good...but hey...they started 0-4. It's all been up hill.
Black Lushus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 ooops, thanks bps, I meant denver needs to LOSE...well if anything it gives us hope for next season...
The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Well...there lies the problem. Look at the AFC. Just look at the teams that AREN'T going to the playoffs this year. Baltimore, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Houston and one of the Broncos, Jets and Bills. Which of those teams doesn't feel pretty good about next year? There are more bad teams in the NFC West than there are in the entire AFC. AND The Dolphins just beat the Patriots last week. AFC is going to be tough for a while.
Slayer Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Carolina won today (which I'm glad, I would like to see them make the playoffs after fighting back), which means Minnesota needs Philly to beat St Louis tomorrow to back into the playoffs
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 The Ravens supposedly can still make the playoffs if they win and the Bills and Broncos lose. They would all finish 9-7 and The Ravens have the tiebreaker over the Bills because they beat them, and they'd probably have the tiebreaker with the Broncos based on Strength of Victory (currently .496 to .418, although Im sure that the Ravens beating the Dolphins would lower that, but I dont know by how much). I think the Jaguars need to lose too, but Im not sure. Not that I actually want to see the Ravens in the playoffs..because I know for sure they'll get bounced in the first round and Id rather be spared the disapointment of them losing in the Wild Card round.
MrRant Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I agree that the NFC West has been pretty sub par (Especially Seattle). But if you look at the #'s Seattle has like the #6 offense in the NFL. Course they have like the 23rd D but I think most of that could be considered injury related (loosing Winstrom really hurt and Chad Brown was out for so long).
NoCalMike Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Redskins find another way to lose to the Cowboys......the hurting gets a little worse everytime.
Art Sandusky Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 A good commentary team could make a game between two 3-12 teams interesting, the ESPN crew makes it a joke. Ugh.
Gert T Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 As hot as the Bills have been lately, I don't know how many guys I want to sit if I am Pittsburgh. Eliminate them when you have a chance. BPS, great point about the AFC teams that didn't make the playoffs, I am a Bengals fan and am confident about them stepping up, but all of these teams will be looking to make the leap. I'll be rooting for you guys next week, and for Lee Evans, he's a stud, and part of a truly great rookie WR corp that could all legitamately hold a claim ot Offensive Rookie of the Year (Evans-Clayton-Colbert) if there wasn't some guy name Ben R. for the Steelers.
MrRant Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 WTF kindof play was that? Hilarity since the Dolphins gave the ball back.
Gert T Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 What a joke of a game, and the commentators as always suck. Of course if you're the Dolphins 'D', you may want try to score the points.
Guest Flyboy Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 And the Saints are STILL alive. Thank you, Jesus... although, Carolina will rape us.. we're still in it!
