Red Baron Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I was over at my aunt and uncle place on Christmas, and on DirectTV, my cousins found extreme dodgeball. Not only did we find this hilarious to watch, but the particpants seemed serious. I mean this is like watching Rollerjam, but instead dodgeball. Anyone else has ever seen this before?
starvenger Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Isn't Zach Selwyn from Dream Job a commentator?
Lando Griffin Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Yep, Zach Selwyn and Bill "Battlebots" Dwyer.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I actually like this show, been watching since the first "season." Go Certified Public Assassins! (waves banner)
eiker_ir Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 mmm so this is kind of like the movie?
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I would say it is. The movie just came out when this show debuted.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Too bad not many head shots happen... although once the tattooed chick with a nose ring on Ink Inc. got knocked on her ass from a head shot once. Damn that was awesome.
jimmy no nose Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I've only seen the show one time and it was kind of funny, not something I'd watch a lot though. I remember when the show was first coming out they had one of the teams go on the Best Damn Sports Show Period and play against the cast of the show and the Best Damn people won. John Salley played the whole game with a cigar in his mouth too. That must suck.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Do you remember which team it was? Maybe it was the roid monkeys from Barbell Mafia or Sumo Storm. The fat fucks didn't win a single game in the 1st season.
tbondrage99 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 This sounds like a blast... I have to see this.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 The Playoffs start this week, Thursday @ 10 pm on GameShow Network.
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I watch Extreme Dodgeball every week. Have been since the first episode. The commentary is really freaking good all things considered(They'll POINT OUT when something goes wrong that wasn't supposed to happen. Like a few games back they noticed that one of the CPA's didn't get in the game when their team caught a ball.) and most of the games this season have been awesome. I'm a mark for Ink Inc. ...I miss Damian Troy though. I'm also a growing fan of the Army team...which I can't remember the name for right now.
Ced Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 What happened to that one guy that would place the ball just over the line then kill whoever was dumb enough to try to get it? Such a cheesy yet effective technique.
the pinjockey Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 He is still around. They made a rule stating you could not do that anymore, though. BTW, it is pretty awesome that Mark from the original Road Rules is on there. Just when you think these people are about to get real jobs they sneak into something like this.
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Wasn't that Constanza(sp?) that kept doing that? I don't know what happened to the guy, but now he's got the temper of a mad man. Flipping off refs, throwing hissy fits. It's funny.
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I figured it was one or the other. Out of all the teams left, who do you guys think will win? I'm voting for the Army team(Desert Storm? Something like that.) to beat the CPA's in an upset. They started off so-so, but have become the most consistant team in the league by far going into the playoffs.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Delta Force is the army team. The CPA's really went downhill despite having their best members return. Last year they were undefeated, this year they are already 7-3. I'm glad though the teams have actually uniforms and not goofy shit like the Mimes, the Sumo Storm, and the Stallion Batallion. I think BLING has a good chance of winning. I'm still hypnotized by the guy with the really big afro.
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Last year, they had the insane abuse of the regeneration target by McKinney. This year they don't have that. and it's really caused McKinney to be worthless. Of course, they added Art Speigel who carrys the team on his back. I gotta say, this season has felt like an actual competition and not some sideshow activity. Every team has ability unlike last season where you had really...really...really bad teams playing.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I like the new regeneration rule, which of course cripples McKinney's usefulness. Instead of hitting a target you must survive for 20 seconds. That guy reminds me of someone too... He has that lanky and really not good looking look to him. (trying to think if I've seen him in a certain movie)
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 What happened this week? I missed it, and it looks like Game isn't replaying it. I saw it was like an "All-Star" game, which probably ruled
the max Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Does anyone ever use my strategy of taking one ball and lobbing it in the air, then pegging the person that tries to catch it?
Star Ocean 3 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Armed Response eliminated Ink, Inc - Reef Sharks eliminated Bling, so now they'll face CPA and Delta Force in the semifinals.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 The "All-Star" game was pretty fun, although I recommend Benedetto get some help... crazy fuck. Art Spiegel should've been an all-star damn it!
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Reef Sharks beat Bling? Wow. I wouldn't have expected that one. Bling looked like the top team in both divisions at one point too.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Reef Sharks aren't that bad, it's just they don't have anything that stands out. Their captain was on the freakin' MIMES last season, and we all know how bad they were.
