Some new Revenge of the Sith pictures

Recommended Posts

Guest Essa_Angelico

Hey guys,

Some more pictures from Episode 3 have been leaked, some of the shots are basic promotional stuff but the best pictures have to do with dooku's fate which could be brutal.

Once again spolier warning:

Okay, looked at the pictures after the initial freakout.

Looks like it's going to be ROTJ: Take One. Palpatine looks like he's recruiting Anakin by having him take out the current apprentice, like Luke was supposed to attack Vader but refused to finish the job. A great element that almost makes viewing the prequels before the original trilogy workable. They really shouldn't have made everything look so advanced still. It's making the original trilogy (especially the first film) look terrible.

Looks shit.

Would like to say I have some hope Lucas is gonna pull things back from the cliff edge but after rewatching the last two recently I just can't. Thank god it will be over soon and I can pretend that the last three films never happened.

I really really really REALLY wish I could find the Clone Wars cartoon from Genndy on DVD somewhere.

I saw one of the last cartoons where a bunch of Jedi are fighting that robot and he steals all the dead Jedi's sabers and is standing there weaving with a light saber in each hand and one in his foot. TOTALLY BAD ASS!!!

*EDIT* I just found out a DVD is supposed to drop in March. Supposed to have two seasons of that series. So I hope it costs like five dollars. What is that, like thirty odd episodes, at three minutes an ep?

Two hours of footage?

It still pisses me off that these movies are less than twenty or so years behind the original trilogy because it makes the Empire seem a lot less powerful and totally screws up how old Vader should actually appear. Those X-wings looked cool though.

I.  Can't.  Wait.  For.  This.  Movie.

Me neither, Spiff. Me neither.

Ditto. Between this and H2G2 my fiancee will probably be ready to kill me...

This is probably totally showing my Star Wars Geek Credentials, but I don't think those are X-Wings. I think those are the starfighters known as Z-95 Headhunters.

The Z-95 only has 1 wing on each side, similar to our airplanes. The ones in those pics, however, look to have 3 on each side. Maybe those are a precursor to the Z-95's?

These later-era Z-95s had a basic configuration that strongly hinted at the T-65 X-wing that was to soon take the galaxy by storm. A thin, pointed spaceframe rested between two large engine clusters, from which foils extended outward. The tips of the foils typically housed the primary weapons (usually blasters or laser weapons) while the fuselage provided a more stable platform for missile weapons. Later in the production run, the Z-95-AF4 (Assault Fighter 4) featured twin engine clusters that split into a total of four engine thrusters, much like the modern X-wing. These later Headhunters also had the capability of splitting the foils into attack position, widening the coverage area of the wing-mounted weapons.

Did you even read the link I posted? :P

I read it, but that still doesn't cover the the 6-winged ships pictured there, unless these Ep. III ships are a version not covered in that article.

my guess as far as the new trilogy settings looking more advanced than the old trilogy settings is because the emperor didn't really give a shit about most of the republics that he let them go to shit save for a few locales...

Holy Crap.

Padme got old and Anikan got hairy...

I don't see Padme.

:stupid:

Look real close. She's in the ship on the far left side of the star-fighting picture.

(EDIT: You know, I think she actually is in one of the pics, if memory serves.)

Anyway, I have always thought the ROTJ sequence of the Dark Side trying to suck Luke in would be the same way Anikan got turned. Looks like I may have been right. And I love the one pic with Chris Lee. I have to give him a hand (or two) on his acting...

Well, that article is from the EU, whereas this will be in the movies. There's almost always going to be some descrepencies between the EU and the movies.

especially considering the scene between him and Ewan McGregor was the best acting-wise so far in the newer trilogy...and all they did was talk...

Well, I, for one, was on the edge of my seat during the Jar-Jar/Boss Nass confrontation in Ep. I...

I'm really psyched for this movie. It had slipped my mind that it was coming out this year. Hopefully it's not a let down at all.

I think the movie WILL be a letdown to most people because there is probably as much hype/anticipation for this as Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones combined. Myself, I'm lowering expectaations and going in simply looking for a good movie.

I've always been a big fan of the Star Wars films and expect nothing but good things from them. I really enjoyed Attack of the Clones and expect this to be way better. From the pictures and everthing I feel I'll just be marking out the whole way through.

Head over to Aint-it-cool-news, they've got a link to the upcoming Vanity Fair cover shoot with just about all the main principles from all 6 films.
