Just Bought 10 WWE DVDs..

Recommended Posts

Well I bought 9, and then bought the 10 which was No Mercy from this year. I solely bought No Mercy for Paul London.

I have only seen Bad Blood 2004.. so any comments/remarks on the other 9 DVD's would be greatly appreciated.

These are the titles I got.

No Mercy was $20 CDN by itself..

The other 9 cost me $94 CDN... so take a look

Bad Blood 2004

Bad Blood 2003

Rebellion 2002

Armageddon 2003

Vengeance 2002

Judgement Day 2004

Unforgiven 2003

Divas Desert Heat

Undertaker (He Buries Them Alive)

I thought the prices for these DVD's was unbeatable.. whether or not I'll enjoy all the PPV's is another thing.

Bad Blood 2004

Really good. I loved Benoit / Kane and Benjamin / Orton. HHH / HBK went longer than I would have liked it to.

Bad Blood 2003

Sucked.

Rebellion 2002

Good. Angle-Benoit / Guerreros and Edge / Lesnar-Heyman were fun matches.

Armageddon 2003

Sucked. Only good thing was RVD / Orton and that's still debated to this day on this board. I liked the match though.

Vengeance 2002

Great especially the Rock / Angle / Undertaker main event.

Judgement Day 2004

Decent. Eddie jumping in front of the Grim Reaper's door still gives me goosebumps.

Unforgiven 2003

Shit PPV. Burn it.

Divas Desert Heat

Undertaker (He Buries Them Alive)

I downloaded this and burned it. Worth $20? No. Kidman/London is underrated. The rest is good-bad.

Bad Blood 2004

Shelton/Orton is eh. Main Event is quite boring. Kane and Benoit had a better match on Raw a few weeks later. Pass.

Bad Blood 2003

Awful.

Rebellion 2002

Unsure.

Armageddon 2003

Awful.

Vengeance 2002

Really a three match show. Eddie/Benoit is on Eddie's DVD. Tag Title match isnt historically significant, so download it online. Three-way is overrated but still quite good. Pass.

Judgement Day 2004

Dreadful. Shoulda got Bash for the title change.

Unforgiven 2003

Awful.

Divas Desert Heat

Unfamiliar with the extras....but its Diva stuff.

Undertaker (He Buries Them Alive)

Terrible.

It sounds like you got a bunch of "eh" to "crap" DVDs. But 10 DVDs for $90? That's a good deal. I buy DVDs sometimes that I feel aren't good shows (such as No Mercy 2002 this weekend) when I see then pre-used and down to 8.99-9.99. So good for you, they'll beef up your collection!

You're thinking of Vengeance 03. Vengeance 02 featured a very good Rock/Undertaker/Angle triple threat match, a good Kidman/Noble match, a solid RVD/Lesnar match, an ok tag team tables match, a decent Jericho/Cena match, a surprisingly watchable Book/Show match, an average tag title match and a nothing Regal/Hardy match.

Thats the thing though ma man... they weren't pre-used.. all were brand new, just the store obviously didnt want them anymore.

They had Bloodbath and From The Vault: Shawn Michaels there as well for $12... they obviously just wanted to rid of the old Wrestling DVDs.

See, I'm STILL a bit stand-offish on the Lesnar DVD. I mean, I know it's probably not that good. I have ALL the matches on other DVDs and I've always felt like it was too rushed, kinda like the Cena disc.

But, afterall, it is only $9.99...

I bought the Rey DVD the day it came out at Wal-Mart for 11.99. Weird pricing. I remember later they had DareDevil when it first came out for 11.99.

WM 19 I bought at the mall for 24.99 or 29.99, I forget. The next day i saw it at Wal-Mart for 16.99.

I don't buy PPV dvds because 3/4 of the shit I don't want to watch. And I don't understand why everyone sleeps on Lesnar, he is the best athlete the WWE has ever seen. An absolute animal. Had he been given a Goldberg push, he'd be the biggest wrestler ever. He's more athletic than most of the WWE cruiserweights.

Bloodbath I paid 20

Foley 25

Mysterio 15

so only on the Foley one did I truly get raped. But I've had it for a year, so I guess....

But it evens out when Walmart about 2-3 years ago had all of their 2001 dvds on sale for 6 bucks.

I got

WM 17

Unforgiven 2001

Summerslam 2001

No Mercy 2001

Rebellion 2001

WM16

I got those PPVs because most of them where pretty jammed with good and/or interested matches.

Guest Mr. Wrestling

None of the Walmarts around me carry wrestling DVDs.

The only DVD they had in lately has been No Way Out 2004 with Eddie Guerrero on the cover and that's only because of the heavy hispanic population in my area.

EDIT- I did find a wrestling DVD in the discount bin. It was a combo pack of Austin and Foley: The Early Years for $5.

The Austin DVD has Austin vs. The Undertaker (as The Punisher) from 1989 in the USWA. It also has Austin vs. Chris Adams. The Austin/Adams feud is Austin's first big feud so that makes the Austin bit worth checking out. Now, Foley in USWA was really nothing special. Tony Atlas and some dude introduce the matches but really add nothing. Tony does the whole DVD in kayfabe instead of actually trying to explain things.

I picked up the two-disc Foley (haven't watched yet), Bloodbath (awesome) and WM19 (eh, few good matches, extras pretty much sucked) DVDs from Zellers for 12.99 last week, and the Brock (for the Rock SS and Hogan SD matches I haven't seen yet), Trish (for her mind and personality) and Rey (for everything) ones for 7.99. Debating whether or not to go back and pick up the HBK's and maybe the Monday Night Wars one if I can find it. Passed on all the PPVs because I'd probably hate most of them (except for the ones featuring Nash-HHH or Undertaker-anyone main events, I'm sure I'd just fucking love those). All in all, a pretty cheap way to catch up on about the only watchable product WWE has these days: their old stuff.

Bad Blood '03 was not a bad show. It wasn't a good show either; it was just there. HHH/Nash was better than expected because of Foley, Goldberg/Jericho is Goldberg's second best match ever and HBK/Flair ... well, yeah, that didn't turn out so well.

Also, isn't paying money for any Divas stuff kind of a waste unless they're nekkid, which they ain't?

Today I bought Bad Blood 03 (Nash/HHH, HBK/Flair, Jericho/Goldberg) S.Series 03 (Austins Team vs Bischoffs Team) and No Mercy 03 (Angle/Cena, Mysterio/Tajiri, Eddie/Show) for 3.99 in VHS

For DVD's, I bought for 7.99 Global Warning (HHH/Rock/Brock, Rey/Kidman vs Unamericans, Jericho/Edge, Hurricane/Knoble) and Badd Blood 04 (Kane/Benoit, Benjy/Orton, HHH/HBK)

Also for 9.99 I bought Rebellion 02 (Brock/Edge, Angle/Benoit v. Guerreros and Knoble/Rey/Tajiri)

All in Canadian from Zellers

Depends if you're a fan or not. I have Trish Stratus' DVD and it's definitely a fun DVD if you're a fan. The match choices are alright, but the selling point is there's more of a human side of Trish displayed than what you'd expect from a WWE release.

Anyways, since it's been a bitch to get the Rise And Fall Of ECW DVD up here in Canada, the only WWE DVD I've received lately is the Hall Of Fame 2004 DVD. Not the best, but definitely not the worst either. A lot of the inductees' speeches are fine (Graham's, Race's, Slaughter's and Ventura's) but Bobby Heenan's 20-minute rant on anything that hit his mind was the hottest part of the ceremony, and the set as a whole. The match choices are not for everyone and questionable at times, but if you're a fan of WWF old school, the DVD is a pleasant waste of time.
