godthedog 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 I happen to enjoy the works of Thomas Pynchon and John Barth and David Foster Wallace, so I like some post-modernism. it's cool to like the literature, like i enjoy a lot of nihilistic art, but as an ethos or a philosophy of life it's pretty shitty and contentless. i assumed IDRM was referring to it as such, since he was placing it in context with atheism and religion and other major life choices. The organization is really what hurts it. They have to be organized to fly a plane into a building, or drive thousands of homosexuals to suicide. This one made me laugh a lot more than it probably should have As for religion, I can sum it up in one sentence: "God didn't make man, man made God."
