Now alternatives (think Avril Lavigne/Gwen Stefani) all go on about being different and wear alternative clothes yet they're all the frikkin same. I mean you're hardly being alternative if you're wearing the same things. It's just a shitty buzzword that was applied to esoteric, original rarely listened to bands, that quickly came to be applied to sappy and poppy bands.
