Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Unlike the other pictures we've seen, these are in full daylight and you actually see the details. http://img59.exs.cx/img59/1579/A42.jpg http://img59.exs.cx/img59/8985/F11.jpg http://img59.exs.cx/img59/3581/L7.jpg That's one hell of a vehicle, and I like it better than the penis envy Batmobiles from Burton/Shumacher. Unlike the Burton/Shumacher incarnations, this one can actually do things and not look like a plastic toy being pulled along.
Ted the Poster Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 "Doc Brown, I'm about to pimp your ride."
Nighthawk Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Well, it does kind of look like a toy. I don't imagine it will be in that kind of light in the movie though.
Guest DVD Spree Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 "Doc Brown, I'm about to pimp your ride." FUCKING HILARIOUS. Although, Christian Bale would gut you and your mother for talking smack about his ride.
2GOLD Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 What the hell is that thing? How can you be sneaky driving something like that? It looks like something that was made on Junkyard Wars.
Ripper Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Thats why I like it. It is conceiveable that someone made that from scratch themselves. The old batmobile...hell, all the construction under wayne manor...just a LITTLE far fetched. I think the whole thing about Batman is that it is was a conceiveable comic. I mean, some guy could put on a mask and be a vigilante.
Guest BrokenWings Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 That's like, the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I can't believe people actually approve of this as the Batmobile. Why did they have to modify it so far from the original again?
Damaramu Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 What in gods name is that? What is wrong with the batmobile in comic books? That looks like something from Mad Max.
NYU Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 What in gods name is that? What is wrong with the batmobile in comic books? That looks like something from Mad Max. Oh no. This is going to turn into another X-Men discussion. I can feel it.
2GOLD Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Complaining about uniforms is one thing. I don't mind the car though. As Ripper said, it looks homemade. Just can't see him sneaking up on anyone driving that thing.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I can't see him sneaking up on anyone in any of his vehicles, from any medium.
Damaramu Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 What in gods name is that? What is wrong with the batmobile in comic books? That looks like something from Mad Max. Oh no. This is going to turn into another X-Men discussion. I can feel it. No it's just that it looks absurd. I mean seriously that looks nothing like the batmobil from the comics, show, movies, anything. It doesn't look like anything that Batman would drive. Hell it looks like a go-cart with armor plating.
Ced Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Sorry if my comic book knowledge is limited, but isn't the Batmobile more of a pursuit vehicle than one for stealth?
Golgo 13 Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Thats why I like it. Exactly. And this is taking place during Batman's first years, of course something like the Batmobile is going to be imperfect the first time out, not to mention this just looks ready to handle any type of combat situation. Apart from the silver, and let's face it, we're likely NEVER going to see it during the day in the movie anyway, that doesn't matter much. It makes sense.
Guest JMA Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 This sort of reminds me of the Batmobile in DKR.
Mole Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 So they degrade the suit, but upgrade the car? Interesting... But the car looks like crap and I'm not even a comic book geek. It looks like something out of a Vin Diesel movie.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 This sort of reminds me of the Batmobile in DKR. It's inspired by the "Bat-Tank" from that. Apart from the silver, and let's face it, we're likely NEVER going to see it during the day in the movie anyway, that doesn't matter much. It's painted black, it just looks silvery in the daylight for whatever reason. It's camo painted when Bruce "borrows" it from Wayne industries, but he paints it black for his use. So they degrade the suit, but upgrade the car? Wrong! Both the suit and car are Military prototypes built by Wayne Industries.
Guest Prodigy Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Some more pics: http://www.batmannews.de/gotham_city_centr...16012005_3.html Interior shot + plus more. Looks pretty damn good to me.
Mole Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Wrong! Both the suit and car are Military prototypes built by Wayne Industries. Wait, they didn't degrade the suit? I thought it was going to be like the first Batman, not the 7th one.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Well it may not be as refined as later suits, but I wouldn't call it a downgrade.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 The military isn't worried about how something looks. For a rookie Batman, a built for the military urban assault vehicle makes more sense than some ego stroking machine. After he gets some experience and sees what he's up against, then he can worry about style.
Damaramu Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I remember in the comics the Batmobile being the Batmobile right off the bat. It wasn't Mad Max's Go-Cart.
eiker_ir Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 i like it, fits well with the whole "beginning" story. Also it looks pretty cool in movement, from the pics it looks like this tank but it's actually pretty fast and looked great in teh footage that was online a few months a go.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 This vehicle is not even close to a Mad Max vehicle, but perhaps Aliens. Mad Max had vehicles pieced together with stuff from other junked or deserted vehicles...kinda like Oklahoma and West Virginia. In the comics, the "Batmobile" started out as basically a Lincoln with some armor. There's a website somewhere that traces the evolution of the comic "Batmobile".
bobobrazil1984 Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 There was a video clip of that Batmobile actually in motion a while back, driving down streets (some excited teens shot it on a Handycam), it was crazy, sounded like a jet engine, but very cool. The still shots dont do it justice.
