Big props for the video - that looks like a fucking awesome match, will definitely have to hunt down a copy or order it when TNA finally puts it out on DVD.

How completely fucking sad is it that in the 18 months Ultimate X has been in existence, there have already been 5 or 6 of them?

Why is that so sad? I mean, it's not like it's some 'Two Ring Wargames! covered in barbwire! with a triple cage! And a mat covered in fire!'. Of course, that's exaggeration, but I think you get what I mean. It's not, and shouldn't be, like what the HIAC was when it was first started in WWE...but more like ladder matches, (when at a time, they were very common).

It's a proven commodity, I guess would be the right word to use, so why shouldn't they continue to use it? It's become pretty much, the 'X-divisions thing'. Evidently..that's what you don't like about it, but I for one think it's a good thing. And also, now, when they finally do think of a new X-division match, it will probaly be that much more...*Insert word here*. Better, or something like that. It'll seem more important.

Nice video, what's the song and artist?

They've come a long way since the first X match, which I mostly remember for the belt falling off and the crew needing to get a ladder out to hang it back up.

And Ladder Matches have been done to death so much that they don't draw as much as they used to. When you look back, how many Ladder Matches were actually that memorable? I can only think of HBK/Ramon from WMX, Hardy Boyz/E&C from No Mercy '99, Hardy Boyz/E&C/Dudley Boyz from WM2k, and maybe Benoit/Jericho from Rumble '01 (but that's somewhat of a stretch). NONE of the ladder matches after Ki/Styles/Lynn in TNA have been memorable, because the Ladder gimmick is dead in TNA. I don't want Ultimate X to be just as common as a No Disqualifications bout, because it's first two uses were to settle feuds between multiple men.

It's a proven commodity, I guess would be the right word to use, so why shouldn't they continue to use it?

Because in a year, if that, it won't be worth shit anymore at the rate they're overdoing it.

It's become pretty much, the 'X-divisions thing'. Evidently..that's what you don't like about it, but I for one think it's a good thing.

No. What I don't like about it is that the matches are just flat-out spotfests with the majority of the spots having no rhyme or reason (I really can't comment on Styles/Sabin/Williams, or the one filmed for Best Damned..., but the prior ones I can), and they won't be remembered after a short while because of how damn COMMON the gimmick is. I know it's the X-Division's things, and I think it's a good stipulation that could produce some marvelous matches. But TNA is killing not only the drawing power of Ultimate X, but also the wrestlers they choose to place into it, because they'll have to think of more innovative, more death-defying, and more possibly career-shortening highspots to keep the fans interested.

And also, now, when they finally do think of a new X-division match, it will probaly be that much more...*Insert word here*. Better, or something like that. It'll seem more important.

It'll only seem more important because it won't be as common as Ultimate X is. And, even then, given a year's time, we'll probably see about 4 or 5 of the new gimmick match for the X-Division.

Personally, I think the X-Division workers could get by on just being given 15-20 minutes to work a match, be it all highspots or the traditional Junior style of working from the mat up. No gimmicks needed. But alas, TNA needs to get over the fact that the X-Division is INNOVATIVE and EXTREME and DEATH-DEFYING instead of just being GREAT, which it has the capability to be.

"Joe Dirt... you didn't make that video, and didnt even give me credit for it... not only is that unfair to me who put all the hard work into it, but that is unfair to the Indyinsider server as you hotlinked my upload... that is known as leeching and it's fuckers like you that servers go down because of bandwith issues... so if your going to steal my work and post it as your own then at least upload it yourself.

Signed,

TR.

P.S.: Can the admin please remove the link from the site or else there may be some problems from the Indyinsider owner. Thanks."

That would be a message from a friend of mine, TR. Just passing it along.
