USC Wuz Robbed! Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 It's to the point I as a Bears fan no longer want to see him in a Bears uniform. He might be a great player and all, but he has shown me ZERO respect towards the franchise by being the ONLY 1st rounder to hold out. That's fucking ridiculous.
Damaramu Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 What the hell does he want anyways? More than Smith, Edwards, and Brown? I'm still blaming the agent after what I've heard about this guy.
CanadianChris Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Saner heads finally prevailed and named Tim Rattay as the 49ers' starter over Alex Smith. Smart move...no point in letting the supposed future of the franchise get demolished right out of the gate.
snuffbox Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Green Bay gives Mike Sherman a 2 year extension... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/foot...s.ap/index.html Im happy.
Sass Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 ...what? The San Diego Chargers and TE Antonio Gates also agreed to a 6 year deal.
teke184 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 More proof that San Diego has to be the most fucked-up front office in the NFL right now... Not that Gates has been making that much more sense in his explanations why he blew off the Saturday deadline to sign his tender agreement.
Sass Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 To be fair, the Spanos Goofs have improved their front office dealings over the past 3 years. Hey, they landed Drew Brees and LT in a trade with the Falcons who ended up getting Mike Vick so they haven't shat the bed...yet. This is coming from a Raiders fan too. AJ Smith is a good GM who has managed to get himself into the good graces of the Spanos family. In the past, that wasn't always the case with an SD GM. The "Most Fucked Up Front Office" award goes to the Chicago Bears. They still don't have an O-line when it was one of their glaring flaws last season. The McCaskey family must be getting spoon fed meth by their GM. The lifetime achievement award for MFUFO is still in dispute between the Cardinals and the Saints though. Bill Bidwell and Tom Benson could have brought down the 49ers in the 80's if they had taken over the team from Eddie DiBartolo. Mike Brown's got a strong case for the lifetime achievement award too. His team went *15* straight losing season almost. That's some douchebaggery right there.
LaParkaMarka Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I think the clear winner for MFUFO has got to be the Cardinals. They were so terrible for so long. Arizona was the place to go for your career to die (Emmitt Smith), and has produced several losers who have gone on to stink up the league elsewhere (Jake Plummer, David Boston). And that's just recent history. It's kind of scary that they actually seem to be improving. Jerry Angelo in Chicago has had this extended grace period because of that 12-4 season they had a few years back. He almost has to get canned this year, barring some kind of miracle playoff berth.
Sass Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Aeneas Williams left the Cardinals waaaaaay too late in his career. Whatta waste of talent.
nl5xsk1 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 The thing that I don't get about the Cards is actually what I don't get about Denny Green ... he started 3 in the last 2 months of last year & is starting a 4th to start this season ... yet has passed over a handful of QBs that are all better than what he's had to work with. And this is a guy that had HOW many QBs in Minnesota? Off the top of my head, Salisbury, Moon, George, Cunningham, Gannon, Culpepper ... and I'm sure I'm missing a few. It's like he has a "we need a QB" fetish.
Robert Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Others: Jim McMahon Brad Johnson Spergon Wynn In the Green Era, ten of them started. The amount that the Bears had for QB's starting is baffling: Mike Tomczak Henry Burress Jim Harbaugh Steve Walsh Erik Kramer Dave Krieg Shane Matthews Rick Mirer Cade McNown Jim Miller Kordell Stewart Chad Hutchinson Rex Grossman Craig Krenzel Johnathan Quinn It's just been horrible for Da Bears.
LaParkaMarka Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Smilin Henry Burress played in the NFL? Good for him.
Gert T Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Good to know I'll get to see the Bengals D all over the SC highlights tonight. 7-0 Eagles 15 seconds into the game.
therealworldschampion Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 10-0 and apparently it was a McNabb to Owens 64 yard TD pass
Vampiro69 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Hey the Cardinals have been picked to win the west on CNNSI and in Playboy.
therealworldschampion Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 27-3 Eagles, Greg Lewis with a one handed catch
Gert T Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Ass Kickin' in Philly, Eagles 27 Bengals 3.
Damaramu Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I sure hope the Eagles offense and defense can perform this well consistently during the season. Of course I'm just reading internet updates while I'm at work. It could be shitty offense and defense from the Bengals.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Hey, the Ravens scored a TD :20 in, on a 43 yard Chester Taylor run, and then his very next rush he had a 50 yarder. Ravens are (GASP) winning 14-6.
therealworldschampion Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 They play like they did in the first half, and they'll rip apart the Falcons and Woody Paige's boytoy Ron Mexico on September 12th.
Art Sandusky Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Man, the Packers are so being exposed. Damn guys, play some defense. Get rough.
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Considering that half the team's injured and continuing to get worse, it doesn't look pretty.
NoCalMike Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Redskins offensive line pushed around the Steeler's starting defensive line, like they were little girls. The Hogs are back. Also, Ben looked horrible.
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Yeah the Redskin offense looked much nicer tonight than it had previously. Either that, or Pittsburgh was just majorly sluggish tonight on defense.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Pittsburgh tends to run the most horrible, vanilla offenses and defenses during the preseason. Don't read much into it.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 The Bears should go ahead and try Orton out with the first team offense for their final game. They have nothing to lose (a good preseason record of 3-1) so why not, right? He can't be worse than Chad Hutchinson...
Robert Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 Just saw this on ESPNEWS, the Bronco's will release Maurice Clarett which is very good. He'll probably end up in Canada or something.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I picked up Orton for my fantasy QB backup as I figured it was just a matter of time before they named him the starter, and they did so today.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Because Dama keeps asking, Cedric Benson finally reports to camp after signing a 5 year deal.
Damaramu Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Just saw this on ESPNEWS, the Bronco's will release Maurice Clarett which is very good. He'll probably end up in Canada or something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know I don't feel bad for Clarett but I do feel bad that nobody stepped up and told him he was a fucking moron that needed to shape up.
