Promoter Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Eddie's depression over having the WWE belt taken off him is because he saw it as the company not having faith in him to carry things, and if you feel that your employers, or anyone, don't have faith in you, then that can really hit you hard. Point taken, but it could also be that Eddie got pissed off at the whole situation on how his reign was handled as well. It doesn't mean he had a nervous breakdown and whatnot. Frustated maybe? I know I sure as hell would be.

I know I sure as hell would be. I think that anyone else probably wouldn't have had the reaction to losing the title that Eddie did. But Eddie can sometimes be fragile mentally, as shown by going after Angle, blowing up at fans, and everything else he's been through. If he was just told that he was getting the belt and that they'd see how it goes, and then they'd taken the belt off him when they did, while he certainly wouldn't have liked it, it would't have hit him as hard as it did. But after being told he was a long term champion, and then having the belt taken off when it was, that's what made him feel like it was WWE not having faith in him.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Especially considering the guy he lost the title to got a longer reign than him despite not being as over....
Promoter Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Especially considering the guy he lost the title to got a longer reign than him despite not being as over.... Well, JBL is quickly approaching one of the longest title reigns in the last decade, so there's the silver lining for Eddie
alfdogg Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Saying Eddie went over clean at WM is like saying Edge went over clean on Sunday.
CanadianChick Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Saying Eddie went over clean at WM is like saying Edge went over clean on Sunday. Speaking of which, when is the last time Edge won clean? Anywho, it's a shame that he's now a mid-carder because really, I think the fans hold him up to higher than Bradshaw. There was a reason why Angle and Eddie feuded for so long...they are seen as the true draws that wrestle of a consistant basis (ie not Undertaker). Wasn't there reports at the recent house show that he was given the best reaction of the night on the Smackdown side, by quite a bit?
Lil' Bitch Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Saying Eddie went over clean at WM is like saying Edge went over clean on Sunday. Speaking of which, when is the last time Edge won clean? A better question is when's the last time Eddie won a match clean?
Dogbert Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Weren't there reports of the pressure getting to him before he dropped the belt to JBL? If so, then it was probably the best move, regardless of who makes the better champion.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Considering Edge was facing Shawn Michaels, any pinfall victory that didn't involve ten guys running in should be considered fairly clean.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 It's Eddie's gimmick tho to cheat. It's why the fans love him. Which makes even less sense of them castrating that part of his gimmick. Almost every time Eddie has tried to cheat in the last month or so he's been thwarted. Why make his cheating gimmick look so weak by having it made completely ineffective all the time ?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Eddie had been cheating successfully for so long. It makes sense that people are catching on to him, and in effect, thwarting him. If they didn't, they'd have been the stupidest people on earth.

It makes sense that people are catching on to him, and in effect, thwarting him. If they didn't, they'd have been the stupidest people on earth. That would make sense if it was once in a while over a period of weeks, and they slowly started catching on more and more. But it went from nobody catching him at all, to him getting caught left and right. That's stupid. If they were going the route of people smartening up to his act, it would have been a lot better to build up to it, with people catching him out here and there, and building on a growing sense of suspicion. Doing the way they have has all but killed the cheating gimmick dead, because it's too obvious he'll get caught now. If they had built to it slowly, when Eddie did cheat, people would be unsure if he was going to get caught. Now, Eddie looks dumb for even trying, because everyone knows he gets caught every time.

Yes.... you're right. I'm just saying that's where I think WWE is coming from with this. They are definitely hurting the gimmick this way but... what can you do but not watch SD like me?
MillenniumMan831 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Saying Eddie went over clean at WM is like saying Edge went over clean on Sunday. Speaking of which, when is the last time Edge won clean? He bludgened Rhyno clean on Raw in the RR Qualifying match. Rhyno went for the gore, got booted . . . then speared . . . and finally pretzeled up for the submission.
cameron chaos Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 His health declined because of the bladejob and he refused to go to hospital? I don't remember this. I thought I summed it up. Eddie bladed and lost a lot of blood. Though he was attended by trainers, he did not go to hospital and get a blood tranfusion. I guess he thought as a champ he should set a standard of persevering while the belt was around his waist. As a result he ended up suffering from shock and blacked out due to the lack of blood in his system. he then ended up going to hospital anyway. I believe they played off it in an angle at some point also.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 What actually happened was that, once the cameras went off, Guerrero collapsed in the ring, and he was then helped backstage and taken straight to hospital. He took 16 stitches from the blade job, and it was suggested he get a blood transfusion, which he declined, and instead he was pumped full of fluids, two bags worth, and was released at 1am that morning. He certainly did not refuse to go the hospital.
