Guest Cerebus Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 Not 100% sure if this is true, but if it is it all but makes sure I'm not going to see it. I mean "General Grievous"? Give me a fucking break.
starvenger Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 So I take it that you haven't seen the Clone Wars micro-series on Cartoon Network then?
Damaramu Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 It doesn't look real but if it is that sounds awesome. Are you going to get all bent out of shape over a name? I swear people will find any reason to put down the new Star Wars movies.
Art Sandusky Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 It's real, StarWars.com released it a few days/a week ago.
BUTT Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 That first paragraph looks like something out of Zero Wing.
Guest Cerebus Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 The name is sort of icing on the cake. I only went to see the 2nd one b/c my friend got me in with a free ticket. It looks pretty silly.
Art Sandusky Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 The font they used for that image on AICN is terrible.
Dr. Tom Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 Are you going to get all bent out of shape over a name? I swear people will find any reason to put down the new Star Wars movies. "Count Dooku" is a far more ridiculous name, IMO. Nice job, George, naming an important character something very similar to a childhood euphamism for shit. "Grievous" isn't a great name by any stretch, but it's tolerable.
tbondrage99 Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I think a this point Lucas feels the need to make up really stupid names to show he still has imagination.....whatever...
2GOLD Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I lost hope for this one when I saw the trailer.
Guest LooneyTune Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I guess calling somone "Greedo", "Bassk", "Chewie", and other silly names isn't bad, but calling someone "Dooku" and "Grevious" is? 85% of the characters and robots have silly names. It's nothing new. I'll see the movie no matter what since it's the final piece of the puzzle, but other than that, I'm not too sure considering the last one pissed me off with nearly an hour of a fucking love story in a STAR WARS movie.
Damaramu Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I see no problem with Dooku. It's pretty childish if you're going to say "Dooku.....OMG~!~! DOOKIE! HAR HAR HAR!"
CBright7831 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 BTH released a complete shot of General Grievous. In for the Kill With several surprises concealed in his hard-edged artificial form, General Grievous is not a close-quarters combatant to be taken lightly
Guest LooneyTune Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Has Lucas forgot that humans could play the roles of characters with the name "GENERAL" in them? Just looks like an even "tougher" version of the Trade Federation Droids.
Lightning Flik Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 ...I'm not seeing the third one. There's just no way. I like the original Star Wars series, but this new series has been the absolute pits. I mean honestly, that preview and the trailer just KILLED the love I have for the Star Wars universe.
Black Lushus Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 what, specifically, killed it for you?
Guest Flyboy Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I'm sorry, but Grievous looks incredible. But that opening text (if true) is complete shit.
pochorenella Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I don't get it. What's wrong with the names? Is that what most people are worried about? Fictional characters names? How sad. The teaser from a couple of months ago was absolutely awesome, IMO. It made me want to see the movie even more. General Grievous was featured previously on the Star Wars magazine, on the Clone Wars cartoon, and a couple more times on Starwars.com so I don't see any surprises here.
Black Lushus Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 hell poch, the little teaser they gave us in the Star Wars boxed set got me hyped way before the trailer came out!
Art Sandusky Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Has Lucas forgot that humans could play the roles of characters with the name "GENERAL" in them? Just looks like an even "tougher" version of the Trade Federation Droids. He's actually sorta human. Underneath all that are organs that are maintained by the suit, in addition to his belt of lightsabers from Jedi he's rubbed out.
CBright7831 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Two new pictures are up. Some of the best ones yet. *CAUTION: THESE PHOTOS CONTAIN MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS (ALTHOUGH YOU KNOW THEY ALREADY HAPPEN). YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED* I can't wait for this movie.

This is the first time I heard about and saw the character, so I had no idea. I guess it's time to bone up on the new characters.
