What was the sickest Non Botched Finisher

Recommended Posts

Guest Trivia247

Im not talking about Ganso Bombs, or Screwed up Piledrivers that paraylzed people or other moves that Seriously injured.

Im talking about those Moves and Finishers that Looked either so violent in execution or the Angle itself of the move seemed to Awkward.

I have three

on one of my Coliseum tapes either Grudges gripes & Grunts or Invasion of the Bodyslammers

Marty Jenetty took on Tanaka in singles match, The match itself was pretty good, the End saw Tanaka go for a Tombstone which Marty Reverses it. When he Hit the Tombstone it looked like Tanaka's Head hit and his Neck lurched outward before the body fell atop. Sick.... but no one was hurt.

Another time Was a Coliseum tape I think Wrestlefest 94.

Bret & Owen Hart vs the Steiner Brothers, a AWESOME match which I recommend people check out.

Scott Steiner Unloaded with Moves that would scare the shit out of the WWF management of the Day..... Scott Nails Owen Hart with a Dragon Suplex, then Drills him with a Fucking Steiner Screwdriver.... Owen Hart hit the Canvas like he was Dead (Truly..No Pun Intended) Once again Owen hart, although of course selling the move beautifully wasn't injured and after a heated aftermath of the match where officials and Road agents had to come down, both sides shook hands.

Third is well not really about a Move persay but about a current Wrestler...

Akio, Jimmy Yang whatever you wanna Call him. The man Knows how to Sell a DDT like His head and neck got Cracked in the move. His Full vertical body leap into the sell job makes you for a split second believe that he is badly hurt out there. I've seen at least three matches with him take a DDT as if his head was Planted through the Canvas. its a pity they don't do more for him, he got talent up the Ying Yang (AGAIN no Pun intended) And should be a credible Cruiserweight Champion. Hell have him and Funaki bust out a Super J Cup Quality 2 out of Three fall Match at a Smackdown PPV.

anyway thats my three im sure there is more out there which I may relate...but until then, what moves or matches fits as a Sick non botched hold or Finisher for you?

Well seeing as Kawada did a ganso bomb twice, the second time was probably on purpose. I always thought the sickness of that move was overrated anyway, though.

Masato Tanaka powerboming Mike Awesome over the top rope, through a table.

Mike landed pretty much soley on the back of his head and his shoulders, folded up like an accordion, then popped back to his normal shape. Brutal.

Non-botched finishes? Damn... Sid KOing Pillman with 2 powerbombs would've gotten a vote.

As for non-botched... the Frankensteiner usually looked really nasty, but no one ever gets hurt.

Juvi Driver on Blitzkrieg from the top rope. I think.

Good NIGHT~!

Also, Survivor Series 95 opener. Marty Jannetty powerbombs Chris Candido off the top rope. I know it had been done before but it was the first time I saw it. You KNEW Skip wasn't gonna get up.

I saw Undertaker tombstone Dennis Knight at a house show once, I swear it looked like it flattened his head. It's impossible for it to be as bad as it looked and him get up from it... I must have been caught up in the moment.

One more; the infamous Styles Clash Of Doom '03 (he even calls it that) involving Frankie Kazarian. (I dunno if that was the finish because I never saw the match, just the spot)

I asked AJ if Kazarian was all right following this and all he got was a rung bell and a bruised sternum.

Useless factoid: Chris Daniels was in Japan at the time.

What makes that spot even sicker is the Kid was just coming off a neck injury I think (I think he missed all of March-June '95).

sickest non botched finishers? THere are a million of them. No doubt some of the wresters got hurt on these though.

Are we only allowed to mention finishers? Or can we mention any move in a match at all?

Lyger vs Benoit mask vs mask -- Lyger ddts Benoit off of the top rope. I don't think it's coincidence that Lyger doesn't do the move anymore. For the record I've seen 4 people take this manuever so all should get accolades. Benoit, Owen, Nogami and Finlay.

Lyger vs Owen Hart -- Same manuever, I have heard before that Owen got hurt here but I'm not sure of that.

Benoit's Wildbomb (Powerbomb) -- WHenever he uses it as a finisher it is sick

Benoit/Angle vs Palumbo/Billy Gun Smackdown 2002 -- Benoit eats and I mean eats a Palumbo superkick for the finish.

Benoit's headbutt of the top of the cage against Brian Adams, also against Malenko

Benoit's top rope powerbomb to El Samurai BOSJ 93

Dynamite Kid's headbutt to Greg Valentine and subsequent falling back on the cement at Wrestlemania II

2 Cold Scorpio/Bagwell vs Eaton/Benoit -- Scorpio hits the tumbleweed on Benoit. It could've been botched but it's hard to say wether it was or not becuase of Benoit's sick tendacies to eat whatever manuever his opponent hits on him.

Is that the one where Angle always does like a complete flip to land on his head or face?

Not a finisher but Angle taking a german knowing his neck is literally hanging by a thread.

I understand they needed a kayfabe spot to explain the injury but jesus christ, just say he hurt himself on one of the F5's instead.

Raven's DDT when his opponent's shins are draped across the top rope.

Kobashi's Tiger Suplex off ramp and Malenko's midair superplex to DDT reversal on scotty get seconded.

Kawada's running corner high kick and Ohtani's running boot scrape, while not finishers, always make me wince. Especially when you know that a Kawada high kick NOT in the corner broke Misawa's face.

RVD's sell of the stunner. He would jump slightly off the mat so his body was just above a horizontal angle to the mat, taking a shoulder solely on his neck/face. Also his 2 feet in the air sell of Dreamer's piledriver.

Chyna's second rope pedigree was pretty damn scary.

Victoria's Widow's Peak always looks like it breaks the back of whoever takes it. Of all people, Stacy Keilber has sold it the best. I guess it is because of how flexible she seems to be, but when Victoria was doing her psycho bully gimmick, Stacy's back bent the wrong way in a VERY sick manner when she took the move.

Jimmy Yang (Akio) is God at selling really anything. I used to mark hardocre for RVD's DDT sell, but Akio seems to try to out-do himself on the headbump everytime he takes it. The top-rope Spike DDT he took from London on Velocity late last year was sick as Hell. It seems he, London, RVD and Chris Sabin all seem to have spines made of rubber due to the bumps they're always taking.

Speaking of Sabin, the Tiger Driver he took from Juvi in 2003's Super X-Cup tourney was pretty sick. He took it directly on the top of his head, without bracing himself with his arms or anything. I don't know how he found it in himself to continue afte the move and STILL win the match.
