Damaramu Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 I don't like Tony Allen. If it weren't for him, Trevor Ariza would be dunking right now. Get over it. Allen's one of the best rookies this year. (notice I said ONE OF so don't twist my words into me saying he's the best)
Brett Favre Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 I don't like Tony Allen. If it weren't for him, Trevor Ariza would be dunking right now. Get over it. Allen's one of the best rookies this year. (notice I said ONE OF so don't twist my words into me saying he's the best) I personally don't like him because he took a spot that Ariza could have had, I didn't say he was a bad rookie. He and Ariza both have very similar stats, but Ariza is 4 years younger. Ariza is also one of the better rookies of the year, and a 2nd round steal.
Precious Roy Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Ariza has been a surprise contributor for the Knicks this year, it would have been cool to see him in the rookie game, but Allen's been good too, so whatever Barkley is a notorious cigar smoker, and heavy drinker, so it's no surprise he gets messed up on the all-star break. He was probably smoking cubans and drinking whiskey like a fiend last night not to mention talking his head off
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Barkley talking his head off? Say it ain't so!
Fökai Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Jack Haley on FSN's "Southern California Sports Report" rumored at a possible trade involving the Lakers, with as much as three Lakers involved, that will bring a big-name star to L.A. "that will make an impact that will take the Lakers to the playoffs". Any guesses? I say Baron.
Precious Roy Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Having absolutely nothing to base an assumption on..... Baron, Antoine Walker or Reef But it's Jack Haley, c'mon!
Fökai Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 But it's Jack Haley, c'mon! Supposedly, it's directly from Mitch Kupchak, but he's "handcuffed" on what he can say at the moment. EDIT: ...and Haley said that it would go down as soon as this weekend.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Watch the Rookie challenge last night... and damn, Tony Allen was the shit... he was the only rookie I enjoy. Too bad LeBron chicking out of the slam-dunk challenge today.

Yeah, I'd be laughing my ass off if that happened, too. I don't see who the Lakers could trade right now that could bring a "big name" star to LA.
razazteca Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Jason Kid and Vince Carter for Mihm, Grant, Medvedenko, Odem?
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Vince Carter and Kobe Bryant on the same team? No way in hell that'll work, dude. And I definitely wouldn't want to trade Mihm either, considering he's the only solid center the Lakers have at the moment. I wonder what Kupchak's solution is going to be, the guy seems to do more wheelin' and dealin' than a fantasy league owner. Are they really that staisfied with Frank Hamlin to keep him onboard? I heard the other day they just rehired Kurt Rambis as an assistant. That brought me back (as if this season didn't already) to the `99 season (the pre-Phil Jackson era).
The Czech Republic Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Maybe they'll snag Reggie Miller
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Wouldn't Reggie like to go out on a championship team before he retires, though?
The Czech Republic Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Pacers, Lakers...hm sucks to be him
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 WHAT THE FUCK?? YAO MING SPEAKS ENGLISH!!??
Vern Gagne Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Most foreign athletes can speak english perfectly fine, they don't to avoid talking to the media.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Here is the story on the Lakers according to Rick Bucher They first offered Odom for Peja Stojakovic and the Kings laughed at them. Now they are trying to make a deal with Utah for Boozer for three players

Styles Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Do NBA fans really want to hear Kelly Clarkson screech her awful music? What is the point of this? Just get to the competitions already, then maybe we could end this before midnight.....sheesh....

GreatWhiteNope Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 I think it was during the 3-on-3 competition last year that Charles Barkley said one of the funniest things on commentary ever: :: Magic Johnson drives slowly from backcourt to rim, dunks :: "He was lucky - that was a 3-second violation"
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Man, Phoenix laid down the law there.
Exslade ZX Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Phoenix kicked ass, and that's all there is to it.
Exslade ZX Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Lol...Why are they always doggin Magic? Even though he just helped them out by taking 6 seconds a shot lol..
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Lol...Why are they always doggin Magic? Even though he just helped them out by taking 6 seconds a shot lol.. Magic works with the TNT crew, I believe, so it is a little friendly banter.
The Czech Republic Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 WHAT THE FUCK?? YAO MING SPEAKS ENGLISH!!?? Yeah, the "being from China" thing is a publicity stunt, he's actually from Dubuque, Iowa.
Styles Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Gilbert about to show his mad skills. AND he's wearing the alternate retro orange Baltimore Bullets uniform too, which he deserves extra points added to his score for...
Exslade ZX Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Shit, it's the orange uni. Lol. Yea, that orange uni....with the PHX on it, sure did help Nash. I'm thinking this will turn out to be an all Phoenix night. (Maybe that's because I just won the NBA Championship with the SUns on NBA 2k5 but yea..>_>)
Golgo 13 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 So, what's the most boneheaded choice: Kelly Clarkson or the Goo Goo Dolls?
