Batista: Clothes Hoss

Batista gets a lot of love on these boards for his big pimpin' style, so I wanted to share an anecdote about how influential he really is. My girlfriend is not a wrestling fan, she watches it to humor me and often to make light of their ring attire, which she refers to as "man panties." Nonetheless, she is savvy enough to recognize the lucha greatness of Rey Misterio and she actually caught on to the fact that part of Eugene's gimmick was an homage to old school wrestlers. She also pointed out to me that JBL was featured in the wedding announcements of last week's Sunday edition of the New York Times.

Anyway, although she's not a fan of Batista's 'roided countenance, she did dig the all black suit, tie and shirt look that Dave wore for his Smackdown run-in last week. She was suitably impressed with it that the look stuck with her, even when she forgot who she had seen wearing it.

This weekend as we were out shopping, she insisted that I purchase a black shirt and tie to go with my black suit, even going as far as picking out a shiny, black textured tie that was quite similar to Batista's. As we were headed to the checkout line, she asked me where she had seen somebody wearing the natty black ensemble. When I told her it was Batista on Smackdown, she kicked herself. This goes to show, that you can deny wrestling, but you can't deny the sartorial genius that is Dave Batista!

I hope to earn enough money someday to be able to dress in the suits Batista wears.

Style AND mobility all in one suit? It's like he's wearing a silk version of the Iron Man suit.

As GQ as Big Dave is, I think that the only guy who comes close is Tazz. Even before the dress code edict came down from the front office, Tazz took the time to reinvent himself by investing in some swanky haberdashery. Compare his time in ECW, when he was still rocking a leather fanny pack and Jams as his out-of-the-ring attire, to his early Sunday Night Heat announcing attire, which consisted of his faux torn black shirt and sweat pants, to now. It's a remarkable difference that reflects his acceptance in his new role.

Now if Big Dave would start incorporating some head-and-arm Tazzplexes into his moveset...

I always thought Benoit consistantly looks like a pimp out of the ring. His tights and a t-shirt... actually, I don't think he wears anything other than his wrestling tights.

I was disturbed one night when he came in wearing a tan suit and a horrible red shirt.

less than used panties

Well, it depends what size he is. Even if no one wants it as memorabilia, he's probably at a size where guys have trouble buying off the rack. :)

"Hot damn, Maw, I just need to get it let out around the waist!"

Batista is THE only member of Evolution to make the Styling & Profiling Horseman look work. Very few people can make that look work IMO of the current roster there would be 5.

The WWE GQ 5 if you will would be: Flair, Batista, Regal, Tazz, Teddy Long.

God, Batista is perfectly made for WWE PR. He picks up on the "hey, I'm a stylish guy AND I'm a pro wrestler" vibe where Rock left off.

It's true...not many guys can pull that off. HHH tries, but that hair and beard speak fluent Cro-Magnon knuckle dragger.

Teddy Long's suits make him look like a small child playing dress-up.

Batista always looks so professional (and so smoking hot) when he's stylin' and profilin' in the suits. I'm always trying to con my fiance into buying suits like Batista - heh, I think he's on to me. But luckily, he likes to sport a pimp suit now and again so it doesn't look TOO suspicious.

Re: the WWE marketing a Batista suit: You know it'd be totally gaudy and have WWE plastered all over it. Batista should have his own line of clothing apart from WWE - he'd make millions!

Mmmm, only 40 minutes till my Batista fix. ^_^

What the wrestlers wear aren't man panties.

http://www.manties.net

THESE are Man Panties.

WTF?

They make a great gift for any guy. People have bought them for that wedding night, for stag parties, birthday presents, anniversary gifts, retirement parties, for that special night together, and just to wear every day because they are the most comfortable and softest underwear a man could ever have

And

Don't know his size, or the style he would like...Here is the solution...Manties gift certificates

Just creepy...

It wouldn't be so bad if he got dress shirts with a neck that actually fit him.
