Welcome once again to the new baseball season. With it fast approaching us, the Head 2 Head Baseball League of TSM is back once again. After last season, somethings have changed, some things will stay the same. Please do actually read what's going on with the league as some of the changes may catch you by surprise.

 

Also let's see if last year's returning Champion, Alkeiper, can once again work his Checklist~! to another League Championship.

 

Players beside a team, are whom has who as Keepers. Please note that there are 3 slots available for 3 new teams should they wish to join the league. Because these three teams will not have keepers, they will have 4 picks each before the actual draft takes place. First three who reply in this thread as wanting in, will be awarded those free spaces.

 

Due to the absurd amount of time the offline draft is taking, after Round 4 the rest of the draft will be concluded in a draft on AIM at 7:30 EST Sunday, March 13th. Those that can't attend please send a list of players to me so you can still draft. If you do not send a list, the best available player will be filled into the position you need most.

 

Let's hope this year is a great success.

 

Keepers - There is 8 keepers that you need to select for your team when the season ends. However,

 

you may only select players to keep on your team before the midway point of the season. Players acquired via trade are subject to

 

this rule as well.

 

Rules regarding Trades

Basically it'd be all trades go through unless it's grossly awful(Ex: Trading on opening day Albert Pujols for uh...a guy who has a season ending injury that everybody knows about in Spring Training). The reasoning behind this is because with majority rules, most people nix the trade because A) they fear that your team will beat theirs if it goes through or B)It's not the trade they would do.

 

Now you can all argue about this day and night but in the end, it's what the two owners who are apart of the trade are doing and they'll do what they think is best for the team. I'd like to think everybody in this league is fairly smart as far as baseball goes so they'll presumably have a good reason for any trade they do.

 

Trades With Draft Picks - If you really want to make a deal you can trade picks along with players. Trading picks must include a pick and a player on both sides. So you can't trade for just a pick, or just include a pick for a trade.

 

Meaning you need to do this:

You will be considered an alterate should I get a dead team. So far though, I've only had two people confirm they are returning this season via PM as I requested, so as for me to see who was coming back. ;;

 

You'll be considered first up should we require an alternate, or should there be a lot of people wanting in (expansion).

 

Weekly rosters?

There reason for this was because you play one person the whole week. Not only that, but by having it as weekly rosters, you have to make sure that whom you place on your roster performs well for you, otherwise you'll lose ground. More strategy this way, I believe.

 

Also, if you don't met the minimum requirements for innings pitched, I believe you don't get any of the stats your pitching staff makes. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I want to make sure that you have to start every pitcher you take Cartman. This is the reason I made it weekly. Its basically to make sure people don't cop out and use as little pitchers as possible and win a lot of the pitching categories.

Last year it was 4 players. While it is currently at 4, there will be discussion on this come the draft to see if it should be lowered or increased and there will be talk of a "waiver" draft (something I've been scheming about since last season).

 

Since there is ilke 3 or 5 new people, you will be allowed 4 picks each (in order of arrival) before the actual draft takes place. So don't think you'll be immediately screwed over. Although, should it be 5 there will be a slight change made in the draft order.

 

So don't think you'll be screwed right away.

Well, the other reason I have it as weekly, is one game is a full week. Hence, you should select your roster for that "game". Besides, you'll only have TWO benches. How radically different will your roster be, week to week?

 

Although, again, this will be something we'll discuss upon during the draft, since there has a been a few people who have concerns with this. It won't be set in stone.

 

Draft time will be set sometime between this Friday and next Sunday. Whichever day people believe they will all be here for the draft.

No. But again, this is just like if it happens during a game. And I repeat this will be up for debate during the draft.

Then you're out of luck basically. It happens, but every team takes that chance.

 

I like this move, because it limits cycling pitchers (and the same strategy can be abused to maximize pitchers/batters). It forces the manager to make a hard decision at the beginning of the week, and besides, it is how most serious roto leagues run things anyway.
