HarleyQuinn Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 News for Next Year - This league will no longer be "TSM" affiliated. That means that the league won't necessarily be posted on TSM. If you need information then you can IM or E-Mail me. I will post information concerning next season (in terms of keepers, roster size, etc.) later this year. - I also want to lower the team limit as 18 is really pushing it. Ideally, I want the total number of teams to be between 12 and 14. I figure that a few teams will drop out for next season anyway so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
iggymcfly Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Actually, I kind of like the larger league. Makes it a little more exciting to be in contention or something. I'm not saying you should replace every team that drops, but I think that a 16 team league or something would work just fine.
razazteca Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Now that Brian Roberts is hurt I am in need of a second baseman and Thome is up for trade.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Im wlling to trade Felipe Lopez or Bobby Crosby now that Crosby is due back either next week or the week after. Either one is available.. Paul Konerko, Roy Oswalt and Jose Mesa are available as well.
the pinjockey Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 Christ, I didn't even get Konerko into my Monday lineup and there was already an offer for him. And thank god I finally have a shortstop.
iggymcfly Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 I just got my ass handed to me again. I think having my two best hitters (Guillen and Beltran) injured the whole week hurt, especially since it wasn't in time to take them out of the lineup. I'm thinking about taking one of them out for Freel this week, but I know that if I do, they'll come back strong with 8 RBIs. My fantasy team's just torturing me this year.
Cuban Linx Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 My team still stinks. Everyone bar Alfonso Soriano, Mark Teixeira, AJ Burnett and Javier Vazquez is up for trade, and maybe even those two pitchers as well if the right offer comes along.
Vern Gagne Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 It's nice to see my young team starting to come around. Not expecting to win, or even make the playoffs, but it's nice to see some positive progression.
Cuban Linx Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Figures, as soon as i give up on my team i end up leading 9-0. If this is what happens i should condemn my team and threaten to trade everyone more often.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 That last trade was a really good trade for me. Nick Johnson has been absolutely on fire, Burrell has provided my team with some extra pop and Bonderman has pitched ok. Really big improvement in my offense I think. However my pitching has gone downhill, but thats partly my fault taking risks on guys like Ryan Glynn and having to use Daniel Cabrerra because Mike Hampton is out.
razazteca Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 How soon until the Red Sox send Bronson Arroyo to Triple-A and what is going to happen to Urbina now that he is with Philly? From closer back to middle relief?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 How soon until the Red Sox send Bronson Arroyo to Triple-A and what is going to happen to Urbina now that he is with Philly? From closer back to middle relief? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Urbina is the Phillies' set-up man, and he will grab a few saves here and there when Wagner has the day off (as he did last night).
Cartman Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 If anything Bronson goes to the bullpen and Halama gets released(or Embree) when Schilling comes back. There needs to be a minimum of 2 trades by Boston to bolster the bullpen and either 2B or 1B help. If that doesn't happen there isn't much chance of making the playoffs unless Baltimore falls from grace. I won't bother complaining since they just won a championship and thats all I could ask for. Not to mention I wouldn't want them trading away any of their top prospects right now.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 The Red Sox could try building at first base by calling up Roberto Petagine, who is tearing up AAA right now.
Cartman Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 I agree, he's most definitely an upgrade over Millar and his cheerleading. There is no apparent answer for the bullpen/rotation though.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 Im happy to be back over .500 after an 8-2 week. Im still in awe of my 15 HR's and 51 RBIs too.
razazteca Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Is that the record for most HRs and RBI this season?
Bored Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 First place, bitches! I've yet to lose a match-up this season (tied twice early in the season) and outscored my opponents 41-10 over the last six weeks. Having three players in Yahoo's Top 10 rankings is nice.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 Gagne out for the year pisses me off. Ive made an offer for a Closer, but if anyone wants to make me an offer, please feel free.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 I think its kinda funny that this week Ive only gotten 2 HR and 10 RBI after last weeks 15/51. But my pitching has been much better this week so its at least keeping me in contention to at least get a decent result out of this week.
treble Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Yeah, that happened to me a few weeks ago, too. I think I had 16 HRs, but went into the next weekend with only 2 or so before hitting a couple more on Saturday and Sunday.
Bored Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 I haven't lost a match up all year and have dominated my opponents the last six weeks while moving into first place. But now I'm in serious danger of losing to the last place team in the league!? Ugh I can't believe this.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 By tomorrow I'll have 4 wins, over 40 ks, and around a 1.20 whip, but my ERA is going to be close to 5 and no saves. Im desperate for a closer...but for now Im going to go back to Chris Hammond.
razazteca Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 Your choices on the FA is slim so if you are willing to punt ERA and WHIP for Saves then go get Kolb, Graves, Urbina, Walker. If I can get the perfect 10-0 sweep than I will be at .500 for the season!
Cuban Linx Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 If I can get the perfect 10-0 sweep than I will be at .500 for the season! With my team doing it's best to redefine shittiness i'd say you have a chance. With Morgan Ensberg giving me plenty of production at 3B i'll put Scott Rolen up for a possible trade, hopefully he can net me something to help my rapidly sinking team. Take Corey Patterson off my hands while you're at it too.
razazteca Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Damn one strikeout cost me the perfect week.
Styles Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Much like my Orioles, I'm getting by on good offense but my pitching is still pretty weak, because LIVAN~! Hopefully I can creep back up in the second half. Still open to a trade for a *quality* starting pitcher...
