Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 (edited) What's wrong with Burnitz? When you put someone at a certain postion, does that mean he's not eligible for other spots in the lineup? Edited March 10, 2005 by Vern Gagne
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 As long as you're updating, you have Brad Radke listed as a relief pitcher on my team. Aw sonuva... I thought I didn't have any mistakes left. Dammit. And nothing's wrong with Burnitz, it was supposed to be a joke, then I added that a wasted pick is just that. To play on the joke but apparently people are taking it seriously. I put people at certain positions in the lineup that will fill the lineup. Unless they are UTL or bench which signifies that the spot is filled that they can possibly take. The roster will not be the one you are playing but how it gets filled in.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Is Burnitz in the witness protection program or something? A wasted pick? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was just referring to the picture, where you can't see his face, I thought that was funny. Although my question was wide open for a smart ass answer like "of course, he's joining the Cubs..." or something... They found out where Sammy Sosa was hiding his secret stash of "the cream & the clear"....

Fökai 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 You know, 10-12 people are usually here at the same time of night. (as of right now, it's me, Cuban, Flik, raz, Slapnuts, iggy and Will.) If you can just work around the others' schedules, we can easily put a chat together. As for the PM feature, I'll try to use that from now on when time permits. Just saying. treble 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 How about, if it's getting close to crunch time and we're still a few rounds left, just input the teams as they stand and let everyone just pick who they want off of waivers. It's obviously not perfect, but it may be easier than a chat.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 That'd likely create way too much havoc with people claiming they chose so & so first and would also cater to those who are on first as they could select the best player and then they'd get bumped down but still.
treble 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Isn't waiver priority based on draft order, though? That would give people who are supposed to be picking first an advantage. Again, I realize this isn't perfect, I'm just throwing stuff at the wall right now.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Pick a Sunday night, announce a live draft for the remainder of the players, and then if people miss it, just give them the best player available by Yahoo ranking. People will still feel a connection to the team since they've already drafted the top players, and we can move along with thte league. Boom. Problem solved. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Isn't waiver priority based on draft order, though? That would give people who are supposed to be picking first an advantage. Again, I realize this isn't perfect, I'm just throwing stuff at the wall right now. Wiaver priority never works the right way whenever I've done it offline draft, so that's not really a viable option. While I'm thinking we should do a live draft, the autopicking would not be exactly along the lines of Yahoo's rankings, but rather filling in of whatever positions they still need, but the top ranked Yahoo player. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Did CW lose a pick just now? Last pick was 11:38 PM ET and it's currently 12:40 PM ET of the next day.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Did I lose my pick? My schedule doesn't allow me to pick from around 6AM to 2PM (Eastern Time). I'm going to be away for a little, so if I can still make my pick, I would like to select: Lew Ford.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Did CW lose a pick just now? Last pick was 11:38 PM ET and it's currently 12:40 PM ET of the next day. There's been a slight change of plans concerning picks. For right now the time window is currently out of place, so don't worry about it. Cena's pick will still stand. Full explanation of the sudden change will be announced once I get home from school (about 7pm MST, 9pm EST). There will also be an announcement concerning a change to the draft itself (as this is just taking too long during dead periods) and also regarding the keeper league itself. Also there will be no more selected picks after round 4 is completed (should we finish this round today) till I make my announcement. alkeiper takes Torii Hunter bravesfan is up. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Ok, if we are to do an AIM chat this is how it'll be done - There will be an AIM chat held this Sunday at approximately around 3pm EST (time may change so we can get more people to the draft). If you can not attend the draft, please make a list of minimum 25 player to a maximum of 50 players you wish to take. I would recommend you going with closer to the 50 since there's like still 12 rounds left. I'm going to find someone to play the "neutral party" but no guarentees. If not, I'll just do what I can even if I have to create my own list and do it that way. Should you not have a list done up, and can not attend the draft, picks will be autopicked for the best available player at whatever given position is still needed on their rosters. As an example say there's like Bonds(1), A-Rod(18), and Halladay(6) left, and HarleyQuinn needs a SP and C, then Halladay will be selected over the other two. As Halladay is ranked higher (just sue me if he's not really, for arguement's sake he is, ok?). This is how the draft would be done if we switch to AIM chat. There will be one last thing I need to announce, but that'll be announced once the draft is complete. 13 - Bravesfan 14 - Rebels of Oakland 15 - Will Scarlet Are currently up. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 I know, jesus. So we've done like 4 rounds in 7 days I think? We'll be done by the start of April. No we won't be done before the start of April. To accomplish that objective we need to be making at least 11 picks a day. However, currently as of today, we've only made: 66 picks in 7 days. That's a pick amount of 9.4. Let's drop that to 9 as it is nearly the standard lately. If I project that pick total divided by 9 picks a day, we get: 24.6 which is 25. We'd be done by April 4th. Not in time for the season at all. To get to April 1st (as April 2nd is when I can't submit rosters), we'd need at least 3 extra picks made a day from here on out. Now I don't know about you, but we're lucky to get half a round done, I can't see us shooting for full rounds, do you? I can agree to 7pm on Sunday, but if we can get more people on another day, I'm fine with that too. I just wanted it Sunday because that's the safest time for myself but whatever works for everyone works for me. And that other thing that was going to be announced was that keepers have been increased to 8. Simply, fast, and easy to explain. Enjoy your four extra keepers and make sure you think about which 8 players you wish to keep after this season. 13 - Bravesfan 14 - Rebels of Oakland 15 - Will Scarlet Just a friendly reminder...
