NFL Cap Casualties

I'm elated the Packers cut Hannibal Navies. Good backup, not a great starter. Personally, I'd go with more size at MLB and shift Barnett to OLB, where he'll definitely make more plays.

Cletius Hunt should be added by Ted Thompson, but since Brett's returning he won't be.

Sharpner will be soon however

Sharpner's due a huge bonus, so they figure he'll be cut.

Also if brett comes back , packer fans are talking Super Bowl, if he doesn't then Hunt can be cut so the cap fat can be trimmed without worrying about the season since the Packers would be screwed w/o Farve anyway

Jesus, looks like the Titans will be fielding a pee-wee team this year with all the cap cuts they have to make.

I'd laugh if Keith Traylor retired, Ted Washington was cut and the Pats went and signed Washington again. Washington in on downs where you expect the rush and Wilfork in on plays you expect the pass would just be cruel.

I say this because apparently both Washington and Sapp might be cap casualties in the next week or so.

Eight cuts already, and from a quick count i still think Tennessee are a few million over the cap. I think it's very safe to say the Titans run of making at least the second round of the playoffs 4 out of 5 years is over, now it'll be 4 or so years of high draft picks and last place finishes.

Unless McNair retires after another injury plagued season and their back-up QB decides to cash in elsewhere after an ok fill in performance.

The Vikings released backup center Cory Withrow, cornerbacks Terrance Shaw and Rhett Nelson, running back Larry Ned and receiver Kenny Clark.

I didn't type a word of that either, just editted an article. Call me Ken Powers Jr.

They even had to do some of that last year too. They may very well be headed in the direction of the 49ers. We'll see.

I remember Ripper telling me the Titans aren't that bad. Can't remember what thread that was though.

And lol at the Browns...

Fuck you hippie. I said they have only had one bad year recently. Of course, now they look like a rebuilding team.

The most important part of this is the fuck you hippie part.

Cowboys released DE Marcellus Wiley and The Chiefs released DE Vonnie Holliday.

Oh MAN! Vonnie come back to Green Bay!

This was yet another retarded move made in the Sherman as GM era. Letting Vonnie Holliday, who was drafted as Reggie's replacement and became a solid run stopper and decent pass rusher, go and in the process sign a 3rd down/nickel package pass rusher to a big time contract and have him play all 4 downs.

Fuck that, the Pats are better off without Washington ... their d-line is stacked as it is, why waste the money on that fat tub of goo?

Personally, I'd rather the Pats bring Sapp in just for a tour/talk about a contract, and then not sign him but announce it's because he's old, fat, overrated and a loudmouth. And let Hochstein be the one to announce it. THAT would make me laugh.

Pats are set at DE but thin on depth at DT. If Washington cost the Vet's minimum I'd bring him in.

I find it hilarious that Robert Holcombe is still going to count for $29 (that's 29 DOLLARS) against the Titan's cap next year.

What? No change as well.

Yeah, and now they'll have another... :P

I would hate to have a job where I can count on being released whenever I'm about to come into some big money.

The Dolphins cut Jay Fiedler. Wouldn't mind the Pats taking a look at him to fill the role Jim Miller did this year.
