Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Credit: PWTorch.com Numerous reports regarding the UPW event in California last night left many wondering if Kazarian's announcement that he has signed with the WWE -not OVW- and will begin working on the main roster would be happening sooner than anticipated. That is the case at this point, as he's one of very few who will skip the "farm league" and head straight into the main roster. Kazarian decided to leave TNA the previous week after working with no contract for so long. Kazarian was an X-Division and tag team wrestler in TNA. The originally scheduled match between Mike Mizanin and Daniel Puder was canceled after "Miz" had a previous obligation (with MTV) that prevented him from appearing. Puder was friendly with fans after the show. John Cena recently did an interview with Slam! Sports out of Canada, and talked about a variety of topics. Among those discussed, Cena talked about his friendship with indy talents Frankie Kazarian, Samoa Joe, and many others. It's a good read and definitely worth checking out. Visit canoe.ca for the interview. Partial credit for this goes to PWInsider] -- Tommy Dreamer has been contacting former ECW stars on behalf of WWE recently. He has been asking who would be interested in taking part in the 6/12 ECW One Night Stand PPV at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The Sandman and several other former ECW stars not currently under WWE contracts were contacted. There is no word on WWE’s intentions of the calls, and some speculate that it may be to prevent them from working the ECW reunion show being promoted by Shane Douglas on 6/10. If Dreamer is in charge of bringing in the wrestlers for the event, then there may be several stars who might not be taking part in the event due to heat with Dreamer. One would be Steve Corino, whose push in ECW was hated by Tommy Dreamer. Thanks to the PWTorch Newsletter] -- There are video vignettes already being produced for Randy Orton vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania 21. -- The original plan was to turn Randy Orton heel again, but he practically begged to remain baby face. There’s no word on whether his begging was effective or not, but it’s not likely that WWE management will be doing him any favors. As previously reported, management isn’t very happy with his backstage and road antics. -- WWE is planning to set up a ring and hold an exhibition to promote Wrestlemania 21 in Hollywood, CA in front of the Kodak Theatre on Thursday 3/31 at 12 noon. Mick Foley is billed to appear on Dennis Millers show tonight on CNBC which airs at 9 p.m. est time. Alex Marvez recently conducted an interview with former WWE and WCW champion Bill Goldberg for his weekly syndicated column. In the interview, Goldberg discussed his marriage to a stuntwoman he met while filming the Adam Sandler movie, "The Longest Yard". In addition to that, Goldberg touched on some wrestling issues. On if he'll ever work for WWE again, Goldberg responded with - "I'm not going to say I'm done, because in the right situation I would love to come back for my fans, but in the wrong situation, I'll remain retired from now until the day I die because I'm not going to be a hypocrite and be part of something I'm not a big fan of." When asked if he'd ever try working for the TNA promotion, Goldberg said no, because TNA "isn't my idea of the pinnacle of the wrestling business." This is just a reminder that next Tuesday, March 1st at 9EST, WrestleZone Radio with Matt Boone and Ryan Clark will return to the internet. We'll be broadcasting LIVE from 9:00-11:00 PM EST. each and every week. Ryan Clark will also be calling in LIVE from the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York, site of the SmackDown! tapings for our return show, with live audio coverage of the event. Full details are available online at WrestleZoneRadio.com. Scotty 2 Hotty's picture and bio have been removed from the Smackdown superstars page, which leads many insiders to believe that he has either been released from WWE already or the company plans to do so in the near future. -According to an article in The Des Plaines Journal, a newspaper based out of Chicago, WrestleMania XXII will emanate from the Allstate Arena in Chicago. The venue, which holds approximately 20,000 fans, has housed two previous WrestleMania events; those being WrestleMania 2 and WrestleMania 13. My Word On the Orton Story, Its nice to know if this is true, that despite the Management's dislike of Bad behavior they will still give the Golden Boy the Win no other wrestler in nearly 15 years could do at WM. I can't wait till one Raw after Mania where he Jobs to HHH in 5 minutes to His Sleeperhold. Isn't it nice that Ol Goldberg keeping the sparks of possiblity alive to come back, complain about his treatment his valet service the food at the Kraft service table, and whine that he actually has to wrestle. Kudos Billy boy Guess this is more indications that Heyman has no role with this ECW rivial One night PPV. Dreamer is a good man to pick up the mantle but can he be the bridge of those who hate the WWE or Specifically Hate Heyman so much they wouldn't want a Big PPV payday? Guess the last we saw of Poor ol Scotty was when he got bitch slapped and nailed by Mohammad at Royal Rumble aw well..He can go to TNA or dig up Brian Lawler and Fatu and pick up where we left off, for about a week, afterwhich he'll be fitted for a Guitar Shot from Jeff Jarrett. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Well, seems Orton's getting himself a bit of an ego. Maybe the WWE shouldn't have spent so much time with him as an top contender Since it's Taker vs. Orton at Mania, what's Kane going to do, chokeslam Pete Rose again?
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 So wait, they don't like how Orton is acting on the road and he is begging not to be turned heel....so they plan to turn him heel and let him end the undefeated streak of the Undertaker? Wow, that is just....huh? There has GOT to be someone better served to end the Undertaker's streak that is already a heel. How about the man who has mild history with him? Let MAVEN be the one who does it. Hell, the biggest rub Maven got from the Undertaker was eliminating him from the Rumble and then Taker kicking him all over the arena. Let Maven finish him off. At least Maven has more charisma and personality as a heel than Orton has period.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Taker jobbing to Orton at Mania? No way in hell. Taker'd bitchslap some sense into just about anyone who'd suggest that. It'd be a complete waste.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Taker jobbing to Orton at Mania? No way in hell. Taker'd bitchslap some sense into just about anyone who'd suggest that. It'd be a complete waste. How long has it been since Taker lowered the sunglasses, looked at his opponent for Mania, and said, "I ain't feeling it" and just walked away? DAMMIT TAKER! DO IT NOW! iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 I really hope Taker doesn't do the job. The thing is that Orton just changed his gimmick from the legend killer thing a little while ago, and picking it up again really wouldn't do much right now. The Taker rub at Mania could be huge in the right situation, but I think Orton would actually get a better rub from turning heel on Batista right now. Just let the face thing kind of float along a little while longer, and then he can use some unfair advantage to beat the fuck out of Batista out of jealousy that he beat Trips where Orton couldn't. That would also be a much better story, interest-wise, and would help keep Raw's ratings going steady when Batista's done with HHH. It just seems like Orton beating Taker wouldn't go anywhere right now. Even if they are convinced that they want Orton to be the one to end the streak, they'd be better off having him lose to Taker clean this year, work the year on Raw with a title reign or two, and then go to Smackdown before Mania next year to try and avenge the loss. Puder was friendly with fans after the show --- Puder's working indies? well UPW had a relationship with WWE in the past. WWE signed many upw stars including John Cena (then known as The Prototype) to developmental deals, so I guess since puder lives in cali he worked a show there with wwes approval id assume (miz has wrestled many times already for upw)

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Ever since Taker beat Flair it's been evident to me he's not losing at Mania... he's going to retire with the streak and it will be his legacy. Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 re: Orton ending "the streak" NO fucking way. The only person that should end Taker's WM streak is Kane. No one else should even be considered for it. Consider it payback for all the shit that Kane has put up with, without ever (as far as I've heard) complaining once. Not only that, but it should be Taker's last match as well.

Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Taker should stay undefeated forever at Wrestlemania IMO. That will be one hell of a legacy to leave behind when he retires. I think it's meaningless. It's a worked sport. This isn't like a fighter retiring as an undefeated champ. Really, he should lose to Orton here. Orton needs to be rehabbed and sent to Smackdown and this will actually give him some momentum. To the poster who mentioned Kane, that would be a waste too. Kane's too old at this point to be considered a big part of the company future. Like it or not, Orton is. The win should be used to elevate someone. It's not like UT's going to be around forever (at his size and the years catching up to him, he'll probably breakdown in the next few years), they need to take advantage of giving whatever rub ending the streak now. -Paul Jacobi-

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 According to the WrestlingObserver, WWE has gone to war in its attempt to recruit former ECW talent for the ECW PPV, tentatively schedule for 6/12. With Shane Douglas planning an ECW reunion show on 6/10, WWE is using Tommy Dreamer to court wrestlers away from Douglas' show. WWE has reached out to a number of wrestlers who it feels might otherwise consider working the 6/10 event. It is known that Sandman was personally offered $5,000 to work WWE's version of the ECW reunion. One can only assume that the other wrestlers contacted also received simiar four-figure offers. However, in the case of The Sandman, who is already a multi-millionaire thanks to his work in construction, money may not be the selling point for him. He has stated on various occasions that he pretty much only wrestles for his friends who are booking shows now.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 After Undertaker putting Lesnar over and losing cleanly to him in a Hell in the Cell, only for Lesnar to "walk away" before Taker could get his jobs back, I think the chance of Taker losing his undefeated streak at WM and putting over Orton are: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
