Guest Failed Mascot Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 I made this thread so I could complain about Marc Blount. I hate the man and his stone hands.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Dude... why do hate Marc Blount so much, he's not that bad.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 He can't rebound, he can't pass, he has the ball stolen from him when he's trying to hand it off to the point guard, and all his shots hit the front of the rim.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 You mean this Marc Blount. And it's actually pronounce Mark Blount, sok?
alfdogg Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 I guess I could contribute something. Dale Davis is apparently going to be bought out by New Orleans and wants to return to the Pacers. The Spurs want him as well, and Rasheed Wallace wants him to come to Detroit, but Dale said the Pacers are his first choice. We could desperately use a guy like him, as Harrison has been hurt off and on pretty much all season and Foster is currently out with back spasms. We're also last in the league in rebounding. Come on home, Dale!
Guest Failed Mascot Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Alf, have you seen any of Delonte West yet? Damn impressive PG who has more poise than any rookie I've seen the Celts take in a looooong time. It would still be nice though to see Payton come back for the rest of the season to add more depth and continue mentoring the 2 young PGs.

Damn impressive PG who has more poise than any rookie I've seen the Celts take in a looooong time. THat must be saying something, because Danny Ainge stockpiles enough draft picks for the Celtics to get 12 rookies a year. Unless of course he trades the draft picks he traded for. If he did, they would probably be traded for draft picks.
Precious Roy Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 DeLonte is playing nice right now, probably the smartest player on the Celtics, he's mad quick and crafty, but I've got a bad feeling about his longevity. He doesn't look very durable, I can see him wearing down with heavy minutes. You can see him doing some of the little things he learned from Payton though, mimicking the Glove's game a bit, which is cool. Banks isn't panning out like I expected, pretty good defender but his O is weak. Antoine Walker looks better than I've EVER seen him. Dude is fuckin sleek, I had no idea he got himself in such good shape. Celtics are gonna be money down the stretch.
The Czech Republic Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 God I hope not. Boston cannot excel at more than two sports at any given time. The indoor teams had their runs, now the outdoor teams, but shit, if the Patriots, Red Sox, AND Celtics are all championship caliber, New Englanders are gonna get pretty fucking reprehensible. And I like Boston teams (with a notable exception). Just a warning.
The Czech Republic Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 And yes, I would fret about Chicago fans becoming insufferable blowhards if all our teams were awesome, too.
Precious Roy Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Not championship caliber, but they might be good enough to reach the final four in the East. I'm sticking with Cleveland as the fourth team, but Boston and Philly are improved now, and Washington will be a tough matchup.

Anyways if Payton rejoins the squad tommorow as some are saying he might then I could see them making the Eastern Conference finals. I doubt they would make it to the NBA Finals but who knows...there are really no real dominant teams this year. The Spurs are good as always and Pheonix is very good too but the Celts just beat Pheonix last night(albeit without injured PG Steve Nash playing for them...but I think Barbosa is more dangerous anyways since he can play defense as well). The Boston teams of 2004 are the best this city has seen as they've already faired better than the 86 teams that made 3 Championships appearences but only brought home the NBA Title.
alfdogg Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Delonte West is the one from St. Joe's, right?

Don't forget that Antwain used his freakish ability to draw fouls and got rid of Amare with like 9 minutes left in the game. ANd it still went to OT. But yeah, Boston, Philly and Detroit are the teams from the East IMO.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Delonte West is the one from St. Joe's, right? correct, he played alongside Jameer Nelson last year at St. Joe's but for the most part was a 2-guard. His natural position is the point though and he's really impressive. Don't forget that Antwain used his freakish ability to draw fouls and got rid of Amare with like 9 minutes left in the game. ANd it still went to OT. That was a make-up call IMO for Amare mugging Pierce at the other end of the floor only moments before when they called an over the back foul on Raef. Amare threw Pierce out of bound and to the floor yet nothing was called. The call that got Amare thrown out could have been an offensive foul but since it was close and they knew they fucked up on the other end they made it a blocking foul.

The Czech Republic Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 What the FUCK does that have to do with the NBA?
alfdogg Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 The Sixers are two games behind the Pacers for the 8th seed. They're also two games behind Boston for the 3rd seed. (Let's be honest, no one in that division's going to catch Detroit or Miami.)
The Electrifyer Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 LA loses back to back to Toronto and then New York. Thanks LA, you have now given two of the most messed up teams in the East a little ray of hope.

Thanks LA, you have now given two of the most messed up teams in the East a little ray of hope. They play the Celts on Wed. Should be a pretty good game and I think that's the day the FleetCenter is officially called "The Derek Jeter Center".
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 And yes, I would fret about Chicago fans becoming insufferable blowhards if all our teams were awesome, too. White Sox fans are already insufferable and they haven't won shit in years.
MrRant Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Sonics beat the Pacers tonight to sweep the series after the awful showing against the Bucks. Alf sux dix.
The Electrifyer Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Oh man... the Bulls are being embarassed by the Rockets at halftime. C'mon Chicago, please make a 27 point comeback!
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Wow, Houston has really gotten themselves together. Good for them, but I don't like T-Mac or Ming too much.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Man, AI just torches the Bucks every time they play. He hit for 48 tonight, making it 3-for-3 hitting 40+ points against them this season.
alfdogg Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Man, Scot Pollard fuckin' sucks. I'm glad Dale Davis is coming back. At least it was a close game, though.
