Spaceman Spiff Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3432902 Hopefully he'll get a chance with a team not full of head-cases.
Fökai Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Leave it to Czech to kill the joke...and my options of Google'd images.
nogoodnick Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I dont think Mo Cheeks could coach his way out of a sandbox but I'm still a little dissapointed they fired him. They put him in a shitty situation and didn't help him out a lot. Hopefully thay replace him with someone good like Flip Saunders. I hear Paul Allen wanted him as coach originally anyways.
Sass Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Mo should have gotten to coach out for the rest of the season. Flip Saunders won't help. He couldn't get Spreewell and Cassell to hustle on the court and the Trailgangstas have more lazy sleeze wads on their team than the T-Wolves have. That could be ugly. Flip should take the rest of this season off for some self-reflection and to figure out a way to burn Kevin McHale's house down without it looking like arson. Whatta pal. I'll always like Mo after the way he helped that little girl finish the national anthem after forgetting her lines. That was a stand-up deal. As a coach, he was in over his head after the '00 Western Finals. Since then, it's been like all downhill for Portland with no upside. Missing the playoffs last season for the first time in nearly 20 years was one of the final nails in Mo's coffin.
nogoodnick Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Cheeks would've been let go long ago if not for saving that anthem.
The Czech Republic Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Leave it to Czech to kill the joke...and my options of Google'd images. Kill the joke? I originally made the joke.
MARTYEWR Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 I'll always like Mo after the way he helped that little girl finish the national anthem after forgetting her lines. That was a stand-up deal. That's the first thing I thought of when I heard of his firing too. It's a shame, but it's probably a thankless job coaching the Blazers at the moment. Hopefully Cheeks, one of the good guys of the game right now, lands another job fairly quickly.
alfdogg Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Wait a minute...if I'm not mistaken, about a month ago he tried to resign as coach, and they wouldn't let him...and now they fire him?
Precious Roy Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Wait a minute...if I'm not mistaken, about a month ago he tried to resign as coach, and they wouldn't let him...and now they fire him? Yeah, he wanted to resign over that Darius Miles shit when management wouldn't back him up. the Blazers suck. great job repairing your image assholes.
Cuban Linx Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 I don't see what difference changing the coach makes, when players like Randolph and Miles are around long-term to sabotage whoever the replacement is with their stupidity anyway.
Vern Gagne Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 That's probably true. I for one am tired of hearing about Cheeks helping the girl sing the National Anthem. It was a nice gesture, but that's it.
