Guest Sturgis Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Ultimate Warrior DVD: Better have his Mid-South & WCCW stuff They don't own the WCCW or Mid-South tapes. Kevin Von-Erich owns the WCCW tapes and Bill Watts' (ex?)wife owns the Mid-South tapes.

The Buzz 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Didn't feel like quoting whoever said he didn't, but The Warrior does own "Ultimate Warrior". He was in a lawsuit during the wcw run with WWE and used Warrior due to the case. He eventually won the lawsuit. He mentions it in one of his many commentaries on his website. If they put his best work on it...it'll be entertaining. I'd rather have a Best of Bret Hart dvd rather than a two disc Montreal Screwjob dvd...what's the point really? I can't wait for the Road Warriors dvd. I never really got to see their NWA and Japan work and want to as I've heard their is some good stuff out there. Guest JMA Report post Posted March 5, 2005 A Warrior DVD, eh? That can't be good news to Warrior himself, seeing as how he hates Vince and WWE. In any case, I think I'll pass on this DVD. Ditto for the Montreal DVD.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted March 5, 2005 With a title like "Screwed: The Bret Hart Story", I'd imagine they wouldn't spend the entire DVD talking about Montreal. They'd at least need to allocate a large portion of time to the 10 years Bret Hart spent in WWF prior. However, perhaps they think that advertising it as a DVD about the screwjob will be likely to get more buys from newer fans than just a Bret Hart DVD ? DVDs devoted to the Road Warriors, WWE Legends and the Ultimate Warrior will at least avoid the 1998-2002 blurring, but these seem like odd choices to release; I just don't see them getting the DVD sales that a smarter choice would. brighty 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Benoit and Eddy are really the only DVDs that have showed the wrestlers losing a lot of matches. It seems that most of the time, they try to avoid having a wrestler do a lot of jobs on his own DVD. That's why many of Flair's best matches weren't included. So I might think Warrior/Rude and Warrior/Hogan from Havoc '98 would be left out. Flair lost the Rhodes match, the first Steamboat match, and the HHH match on his DVD. and the Windham match was a draw.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 The WWE hype machine would say the New Age Outlaws but then again they're making an LOD DVD so they'll acquiesce and give the Road Warriors their due

res37618 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 So what goes on Disc 2 of the Bret Hart DVD? I'm guessing that disc 1 will be the entire documentary (2-3 hours perhaps), and is it possible that disc 2 will be Survivor Series 1997 in its entirety? That would be pretty cool - let's save the Bret matches for a DVD set that doesn't revolve around the Montreal screwjob.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 wait....Warrior did have a CHV back in 89. I rented it once. It had the clips of the herc attacks angle, the wm 4 match vs herc, Summerslam 88 vs HTM, A rematch vs Honky, A match vs Haku, A match vs a ninja? the super posedown in its entirety, clipped version of wm 5 vs rude, and clips of a Rude rematch at I think msg. so it could be this (though it wasnt really a bad tape to be honest)
brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 I'd rather have a plain "Best of Bret Hart" DVD than a Montreal Screwjob one. I'm looking forward to the ECW DVD the most of the four. I hope Awesome/Tanaka makes it on.

Kevin Von-Erich owns the WCCW tapes and Bill Watts' (ex?)wife owns the Mid-South tapes. Oh yeah ... good point. That kind of sucks; of course, I wouldn't have bought the UW DVD regardless, but to only show his wwf tenure and that horrid wcw run pretty much seals the deal. I'll pass. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted March 5, 2005 If the Warrior DVD includes him being locked in a casket (the angle I saw on fateful Saturday morning in 1991 that got me into this whole wrestling thing) and vomitting from Papa Shango voodoo, I am sold. Same. Has to have Warrior's feuds with Papa Shango, Undertaker, Jake Roberts, and Hulk Hogan. A match or two that he did with Rick Rude would be nice as well. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 From Meltzer's Update Today: --WWE is planning a DVD on the 1997 Survivor Series tentatively titled, "Screwed: The Bret Hart Story." And the night after it comes out, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and HHH will be driving home after a show in Ontario crying about how these stupid Canadian fans can't let it go. (thanks to Keith Lipinski) Thank God I saw Shadows With Wrestling, so I won't have to buy this piece of shit. And will they have Jim Hellwig talking about his tenure in WWF, or will they have other people talking about it?
Guest The Mandingo Warrior Report post Posted March 6, 2005 They could also put the following matches on the UW DVD: vs. Ted Dibiase (from Japan, warrior does a wicked flying clothesline at the end) vs. Andre the Giant (Maple Leaf Gardens -Warrior Slams Andre) LOD and UW vs. All three members of Demolition I loved UW as a kid, so I'll definately be picking this one up.. Hell, my username is an in-joke: when I was about 12 years old, my coisins and I saw this wrestling video (not WWF produced) that listed a match with "The Mandingo Warrior" vs. someone. The back of the box showed a pic of Jim Helwig from his UWF days. However, the match was never on the tape. Instead, there was a wrestler known as "mandingo warrior" who was black and wore tassles, (looked similar to Ron simmons) and was annouced as "from an African Tribe"... it struck me as being very funny...hence, my username
Hoff 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 CBright, it's "Wrestling With Shadows," and it's as horribly biased as this will be, albeit in the opposite direction. They could not have nailed Bret to a larger cross. Just vomitous.

Flair lost the Rhodes match, the first Steamboat match, and the HHH match on his DVD. and the Windham match was a draw. The decision was reversed in the Flair match, so he came out the champ. Flair won the finale with Steamboat. Flair was still the champ after facing Windham. The HHH match would have not been included if not for the tribute. I should probably rephrase though -- they're not likely to do a DVD of a guy doing a lot of jobs, because they want to show him looking good. If there are matches where he loses where he still looks good, it's less of an issue.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 vs. Ted Dibiase (from Japan, warrior does a wicked flying clothesline at the end) Agreed. If I'm thinking of the same match, it was released on CHV...World Tour 89/90 I think. Also, they should put on the Warrior/Savage vs. Money Inc match from the last SNME.
