bob_barron 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Creatively it might have been a success Yup. Well that post was worthy of an exclamation point. Austin's heel turn didn't even start working creatively until he stopped dealing with HHH and Taker. Oh and him saying "My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin" was awesome. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Comedy heel Austin with Angle and McMahon was the WWE's best comedy run ever. It was great that the guys could kick ass when they had to, and could do the comedy bits on the side.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Sumotori rank is determined by skill level, not weight class. That way, you get matches between two elite wrestlers, yet they're hundreds of pounds apart -- for example, a storied rivalry in the mid-90s had Akebono (485 lbs.) contending for every tournament title alongside 285-lb Takanohana. At that time, though, the two were the only active 'yokozuna' in sumo (64 and 65, respectively). They were later followed by Takanohana's brother, Wakanohana (66) and the aforementioned Musashimaru (67). Only one more sumotori has been crowned 'yokozuna' since 1999 (Asashoryu). I remember watching it in the late 80s where there was the totally massive 'Dump Truck', little Tarao 'The Typhoon' and the only Yokuzuna I remember, Chionofuji 'The Wolf'. He was old, left-handed and incredibly hard.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 I dont know about the before and after.. Before: Angle vs Taker - Would be an OK match, but doesn't have as much of the appeal as Angle/HBK has. JBL staying as the champion is iffy, but I think they might actually get a decent match out of JBL/Cena. Before: HHH vs Orton 2 (err, that happened at RR but they wouldnt have had that match had they still gone ahead with plans for the match at WM) - I dont think I could have stood 6+ weeks of hyping Orton vs HHH. As a Bonus, Orton would have had to have won the RR. Im kinda interested in Batista vs HHH, but Im one of the few that hasn't been bit by the Batista bug over the last 3 months. Orton vs Taker came right out of left field..and Im guessing they plan to crown Orton "man to beat Taker at WM first" but thats a perfectly good waste of an angle that they've pretty much been building up for such a long time... Before : Snitsky/Heidi vs Taker/Kane - heres where it makes no sense to scrap the buildup for the match at the Royal Rumble, but its actually a good thing since that Tag Match would be horrible and it pretty much looks like were getting Heidi/Booker, Taker/Orton and maybe Snitsky/Benjamin out of it. Kane is kinda left out in the cold, but he could get stuck in that Jericho ladder match or whatever. Before: Lita/Hardy/Kane thing - that was pretty much done for when she got hurt, then the whole breakup thing..probably for the betterment of the show anyway. I think overall the changes are for the better..
Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 Um, I don't think Eddie is the one who will turn. It looked to me like Chavo is trying to make Rey suspicious of Eddie. Down the line, Rey will try to beat Eddie to the punch by double-crossing Eddie before he gets stabbed in the back. This will lead to Eddie-Chavo II and Rey-Chavo II, probably. Cherry Blossom Viscount 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 Creatively it might have been a success Yup. Well that post was worthy of an exclamation point. Austin's heel turn didn't even start working creatively until he stopped dealing with HHH and Taker. Oh and him saying "My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin" was awesome. He actually started that while working with HHH and Taker. Austin had been injured somehow and he was being loaded into an ambulance with HHH by his side, Taker was in the ambulance and knocked HHH to the side and proceeded to wail on Austin while he was strapped to the gourney. In between punches, Austin would say, "Hey, I'm Stone Cold Steve Austin, I don't deserve this!" It ended up with Austin going to the hospital and HHH searching the hospital in wrestling trunks punking out the staff and cutting odd promos which ended up getting him arrested. Unintentional comedy is the best.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin. I am the WWF Champion. And I do not deserve to be treated like this! I didn't realize that was supposed to be a gimmick at the time. I thought it was just supremely bad writing or milking a cheap pop.
Guest BDC Report post Posted March 7, 2005 Just a note, but I'm pretty sure Akebono had a fight with Bob Sapp a while back. I've seen the fight... wasn't terribly impressed, so I'm wondering what in the hell Show is going to do with him.

Guest Teckneek Report post Posted March 8, 2005 World Heavyweight Championship: Batista vs HHH WWE Championship: JBL vs John Cena Undertaker vs Orton(Raw announce team) Kurt Angle vs HBK--HBK will win the Angle invitational on March 29 because Smackdown will be in Texas....or HBK will cost Angle the medals to some jobber on that date.(Smackdown announce team) #1 contender for WHC ladder match: Jericho, Kane, Shelton, Christian, Edge, Benoit Eddie Gurerro vs Rey Mysterio United States Championship: Big Show vs Orlando Jordan World Tag Team Championship: Hassan and Devari Vs Regal and Tajari Cruiserweight Championship Match: London vs Chavo Women's Championship: Trish vs Christie WWE Tag Team Championship: Dudleys vs Bashums I need another Raw brand match in there. That latter match F'd up my card. Someone think of a Raw match taht could be sandwiched between Eddie and Big Shows match. I also dont like the Hassan Tag belt idea, but its the only way i could fit him in the card. Maybe he'll win the IC or somthin' before WM21.
