ravenlo Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Does anyone think that a celebrity(like Mr.T) will be inducted? I'm hoping at least 2 more people are inducted...did they mention more possibly being inducted after they announced Hogan? Thanks.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 They blew their load on the biggest name already. Adding anyone else will be "eh", plus if you do too many people, your well runs dry mighty fast.
Promoter Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 That's true and maybe just maybe the Pete Rose thing was just a gag on the baseball hof and a publcity stunt for Mania last year.
Mecha Mummy Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 I'm pretty certain it was just a gag/desperate grasp for publicity.
Guest Deadbolt Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 They didn't seem to make mention of any more inductees, which could mean that they have this year's list completed. However, with all of the talk about Ted DiBiase coming into the promotion as a booker, I think we may possibly see him inducted into the HOF come WrestleMania. The man is one of the most known heels in the history of the business, and is a legend in his own right. He certainly has more place in the HOF than Cowboy Bob Orton. Or is DiBiase more of an early 90s generation wrestler? Meaning, is his time with the likes of Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, Bret Hart, HBK, and the like?
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Is it wrong for me to think Rick Rudes name doesn't belong in a list that consists of Curt Hennig, Bret Hart, and Ted Dibiase? He really didn't have many good matches in his WWF run, and in WCW had a very good 2 years wrestling people like Sting (in his prime) and Ricky Steamboat every week.
Promoter Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Well, Rude gave Warrior some of his best matches, so he had to be doing something right

While certainly a decent wrestler, I wouldn't put Rude in the class of guys like Bret, Dibiase, or Curt Hennig.
cawthon777 Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 I would put Rude in eventually. It would seem somewhat wrong to include Nikolai but snub Rude. No, I don't think we're getting any more names this year. Unless it's someone like Gordon Solie.
ravenlo Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 Too bad-I was hoping that at least Steamboat and Dibiase were inducted as well(and if there was a way to persuade Big Dust to come in mainly for his NWA work).
Guest Shadow Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Why isn't Arn Anderson ever mentioned along with Steamboat, Dibiase? He works for WWE as well.
ravenlo Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 I figured that they'd save him for whenever they induct Blanchard, Windham and Flair(maybe next year?) I'm not sure about Ole...
MillenniumMan831 Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Is this gonna be released on dvd?
razazteca Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 This years inductees should only be early 80s stars. Next year I can see the Hart Brothers, Dibiase, Rude, Curt Henning, John Tenta inducted to the HOF.
Scroby Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 my guess the list is shorter than last year because last year's went a lot longer than expected, so the WWE might be making sure that isn't happening again by having a shorter list.

Cheers.

Or because they didn't do a HoF ceremony since November of 1996, and needed to do a little catching up?
Guest Tjhe CyNick Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I think Mr T should be put in actually. If for nothing else then to justify putting in Rose. At least that way they will actually have "a celebrity wing" instead of just having Pete Rose randomly there. My theory for T is that they have everyone else in the main event of Mania I, so it makes sense. Plus he could have another boxing match with Piper! He's the only guy I would add at this point. Next year because Chicago was a good town for the NWOA, they should put in guys like Flair, Rhodes, Funk and Steamboat and some WWE guys like maybe Dibiase, Savage and Bundy.
