If you could have one sport thing happen this year

Recommended Posts

Anything from your favorite team winning the World Series to a record being broken to the NHL strike ending to Barry Bonds dying( ).

Mine:

Indiana Pacers winning the NBA title. Outside of the fact that they deserve it for overcoming damn near every obstacle known to man to not only make the playoffs but to do so in a respectable position(6th right now), I'd love to see Reggie Miller win an NBA title. He deserves it and so do the Pacers. Plus I'd love to see a Reggie game winning 3 pointer in game 7 of the finals.

Anyways what's the one thing you wanna see this year in sports?

a obviously steroid free Adam Dunn squashing Bonds home run season record and making that record mean something again.

Rockets win the NBA finals.

Runner ups:

- Astros win WS

- Patriots get some amazing defensive pickups just to piss people off

- The NFC having more than 2 good teams for the sake of competition

Bobby Abreu winning the MVP award.

Over a Phillies World Series win?

Not really. But I think the only way for Abreu to win the MVP is for the Phils to win the division. I'd like to see both, but the question asked for just one.

Someone other than Boston/New York winning the AL Wild Card (or AL East Division).

Definitely Ken Griffey Jr. returning to his form of old.

Any team from University of Oregon NOT dissapointing me.

The Blazers are a lost cause.

I think you could ask this just about any year, and the answer would be the Orioles winning the World Series. I can't tell if it's because the Yankees and Red Sox are so powerful, or just because baseball's more meaningful than the other sports that way, but that would be more special than anything else I can imagine.

Atlanta Braves win the world series.

In my first season of Owner Mode in MVP2005 the world series ended up being Atlanta vs. Minnisota with John Smoltz pitching a complete game shutout in game 7 to win. I'd cream my pants if that really happened.

Barry Bonds passing Babe Ruth.

Barry Bonds announcing his retirement.

Right after he passes Ruth, of course.

I would also like to see my editors idea put into practice.

Take the Rockies, Devil Rays, Royals, Diamondbacks, and another really shitty team and stuff them into a division together. Then have them only play one another so they don't stink but the rest of baseball.
