Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 10, 2005 That's what I was expecting, although I did figure Fever Pitch would also top Sin City.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 I'm disappointed Fever Pitch didn't do better. I saw a sneak preview of it Thursday and it was really good. Much better then I expected and Jimmy was great
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 10, 2005 You know, I'm kinda disappointed that Hostage hasn't been doing that well. It's got some pretty decent moments, and is good for an action film despite some sloppy directing.
Guest JMA Report post Posted April 10, 2005 I'm glad that Sin City is still doing well. I think the good reviews and word of mouth will greatly help it out.
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Am I the only one who hates Jimmy Fallon and doesnt think he's funny? I just think it would've made sense to cast true Redsox fan (however annoying he is) Ben Affleck in Fever Pitch.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Well it did have a fairly big drop off in the 2nd week, over 50% really. Some of it is that directors like Tarantino and Rodriguez have their base of fans but after that interest isn't as high. Sin City will likely make about what Hellboy did, maybe as high as Kill Bill #1.

Sin City will likely make about what Hellboy did, maybe as high as Kill Bill #1. Keep in mind that the budget for the film was only forty-five million dollars. And it's already made that back. I expect it to make a great deal when it comes out on DVD as well.

I just think it would've made sense to cast true Redsox fan (however annoying he is) Ben Affleck in Fever Pitch. I don't find him to be particularly funny. But he's only really bothered me when he and Horatio Sanz would laugh during skits on SNL. That was very annoying.

As for the Kill Bill movies, currently, Sin City is on par to top both of them. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/ch...d=murdermax.htm

What's the name of the song from the Kung Fu Hustle preview? I can't get it outta my head. It's either "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet or "Battle Cry" by X-ray Dog. And add me to the Jimmy Fallon isn't funny crowd. He might be the only person I will say I hate. Usually it's dislike but I've yet to find anything positive about Fallon. Special K 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Honestly, the only time I've heard someone praising Fallon outside of Barron, it's just someone saying how adorable he is. Too bad his job isn't "puppy" or "Shirley Temple."
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Well numerous SNL fans praise the hell out of the guy and with good reason. Except for when he was laughing with Horatio (which even I'll admit he didn't do that much and if that really pisses you off- well get over it), he was always a quality cast member who helped revitalise Weekend Update and turn SNL into the media's darling again. And Fever Pitch has recieved some excellent reviews including an A from EW and ***1/2 from Ebert.

Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 So I saw Sahara today. Pretty good popcorn flick. The plot, what there was of it, was convoluted and just implausible as all hell, but the movie was fun in a poor man's Indiana Jones sort of way. And McConaughey and Steve Zahn have really good chemistry together. I'd probably watch another "Dirk Pitt" film if they ever make one.

As someone who knows a lot of non cyber people, I can say that they all hate him too. Well, actually a couple of airhead girls I know think he's funny because he's cute. I can't stand his little giggling shit act. But, hey more power to those that can. I guess.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 That's not really what he does though. He giggled in a few skits with Horatio but the first most part was a solid contributor to the show

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Considering he's one of the main reasons SNL got so much positive media attention in the late 90s early 00s- I think it's quite the accomplishment. I like Jimmy and all but Fever Pitch doing about the same as Taxi made me laugh. A lot.
