Aaron Heilman (?) outdueling Beckett in Shea. Mets up 4-0 in the bottom of the 7th, and Marlins haven't looked good tonight. In fact, they've looked downright awful. They need to pick it up a bit if they don't want to get shut out.

Tejada and Sosa went back to back, O's take a 3-1 lead.

Add in an RBI single by Matos and it's now 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth.

And another RBI single, this one by Roberts to make it 5-1 and the O's about to bat around.

Ugh.

We've scored TWO combined runs in the first and 2nd inning this year, and right now, we can't hit a damned thing. Add that to the fact our pitching is horrific right now, the Yankees are in total sucks ass mode.

Only the Cubs could make games against the struggling Pirates epics. When the hell is Nomar and A-Ram gonna show up? The window for the slow start excuse is starting to close, and for someone like Nomar, who had a fantastic ST, there's no reason why that shouldn't have carried over to the games that actually matter.

And Sammy blows it wide open with a ground rule double with the bases loaded to make it 8-1.

Felix Rodriguez walked Tejada with the bases loaded for one run and gave up the ground rule double to Sosa.

Good thing we bolstered down that bullpen during the offseason! I guess if you're having trouble scoring runs, play the Cubs. They'll do everything they can to change that.

Jesus Christ! Aaron Heilman 1-hits them. Even I wouldn't have expected this.

Mets suck what now?

I didn't get to see the game due to it only being on a Chicagoland channel today (and I'm in Champaign for college), but the White Sox beat Seattle 6-4. So, MLB's gameday pitch-by-pitch was my friend tonight. Garland had a perfect game through 6 innings, but a walk to Reed and a single for Beltre changed that. The bullpen struggled for Chicago, giving up 2 runs in the ninth until Dustin Hermanson (who appears to be the new closer over Shingo Takatsu) came in for the save.

Juan Uribe had 4 RBI for the Sox and Bret Boone had all 4 RBI for Seattle.

Was Bret sick and they allowed Aaron to fill in for him? :)

You're right, I just got used to the Sox playing the Indians 6 times and thinking about Aaron. Aaron, coincidentily, hit terrible against the Sox.

I'll fix it.

Another win for the Twinkies. Santana didn't have his A stuff. Only went 6 innings...pitch count was around 100. The bullpen shut the door, the final three innings.

The Sox are fortunate enough to miss Johan Santana in the two game series coming up Mon-Tues in Chicago.

I went to the Shorebirds A Ball opener, froze my ass off, but saw them beat the Lexington Legends (Houston A) 5-4. The S'Birds starter went 5 innings and struck out 10 but didnt get the win cause the bullpen blew it.

Then I got home and saw how the O's clobbered the Yankees and wished I had stayed home to watch that instead.

You went to that game? I decided against that when it was already cold when the sun was up. No chance I was going to be out there without the sun to even keep me warm.

It's nights like last night that hot chocolate should be 50 cents.

I've been to a Red Barons game this week that featured a gametime temperature of 47 degrees, and that was at 7pm. Considering it was a blowout game, all but maybe 50-100 spectators were left by the end.

I think the game time temp was lower in Salisbury last night but I'm not sure. But it was the wind that was a damn pain in the backside and the reason I didn't go out to the game. If there wasn't any wind, 40's really doesn't bother me since I usually stand out in much worse in the winter time.

As long as I'm dressed for it, I'm fine. I find it comical fans who are bundled up in blankets and parkas, and players who are wearing ski cap.

Guys, watch real carefully when that A-Rod commercial comes on, the one where he's running through the street, and that woman says "Alex, only one home run today?" At the very end, it shows a stadium light tower, and the lights are slowly going off but the last light to stay on, at the very end, right in the middle of the screen, says "E5."

It's nice to watch Braden Looper blow a save to the Marlins instead of for the Marlins.

Cabrera was obviously safe at the play at the plate, but then Juan Encarnacion drives in the tying run on the very next play - I thought Cabrera being called out would end the game. Just an awful call, but at least Juan tied it.

Yeah, but Gonzalez could've given them the lead since Lo Duca was on third. I give credit to the Marlins, though. Most teams would've folded after that play at the plate went against them.

Very short game for the White Sox and Mariners today. Buehrle and Franklin worked very well and quickly in a 2-1 White Sox victory. Both pitched complete games, with Buehrle only giving up 3 hits (all to Ichiro) and one walk and Franklin giving up 4 hits, two of which were home runs to Konerko (up to 6 on the season). Buehrle struck out a career high 12 batters.

The official time of the game was 1:39, making this the second game under two hours for Buehrle this season.
