Ain't no stopping the Mets now.

strummer, you took a break from the Mets at the wrong time.

Is strummer dead?

just read box scores, haven't seen a game since Sunday. I think I'm going to give myself 3-4 more weeks.

The A's offense is horrendous. A .334 team SLG% coming into today. I had to sit through live their two-hit effort last night and there are following it up with a big zero runs thru eight today to spoil a gem by Rich Harden. 0-0 going to the 9th.

Not giving up on yanks yet. way too soon, but cmon we got to beat the freaking os at least once this weekend.

and good for the mets, I am so hoping for asubway series rematch, if only to piss off the rest of america.

Just happened to catch the end of the Phils/Braves game - thus making it two great games I had the chance to watch today.

Wagner was off, as Atlanta nearly hit 2 HRs in the 9th. They ended up with runners on 2nd and 3rd - Brian Jordan hits the game tying single up the middle, but Chase Utley makes a beautiful diving stab to end the game.

It was a great play.

A's win 1-0 in the 10th due to a Scot Shields throw going by Darin Erstad and down the line on a Marco Scutaro bunt, Nick Swisher scores from 1st. Three of the A's five wins in part have been due to huge defensive miscues by the opponent. Oh well need to get by on luck for now until the offense starts doing something.

Someone explain this baseball theory, as I've never understood it. Your starting pitcher is pitching very well, but his pitch count is above 100. He gets the first to outs of an inning, then either gives up a bloop hit or an error is made, and hes taken out. In this case, it was Mike Mussina, and the combination of Sturtze and Stanton give up a run. Now, why do take the pitcher out, even though hes pitching well, and only just gave up a bloop hit?

If the pitcher had given up a line drive hit, then fine take him out. I just don't get the point if the pitcher is doing well.

EDIT: That actually in a way screwed the Yankees last year. Torre left El Duque in way to long against the Blue Jays, and he ended up throwing 144 pitches. His arm troubles started soon after.

Brian Roberts > David Ortiz

I love Brian Roberts.

Not only as an Orioles fan, but so far he's been a steal for me in Fantasy as I picked him up with the second to last pick in the draft.

Five dollars that Wolmack gets caught stealing. Hes had nothing but bad luck since he joined the Yanks.

Some of us in the analytical community call it "lack of talent."

Although for what it is worth, Womack's one legitimate talent is percentage basestealing.

Lefties hit .094 against BJ Ryan last year. Hideki Matsui was doomed.

Not as much as you think. Lefties don't really effect Matsui, and he hit a monster HRer off him last week.

Matsui's career OPS falls 150 points when facing lefties.

I'm just going to pray this is last seasons "hit the low point of the season by getting swept by the Red Sox and going three games under .500, then go onto win 30 out of 45 and roll from there."

I cant believe that the O's are playing the Yankees so well this year. They win tomorrow (SWEEP!!!) and they'll have won as many games against the Yankees as they did all last year.

And Brian Roberts is the next Brady Anderson...err..well I cant see Roberts hitting 50 HRs but its still a power surge completely out of nowhere.

What's this mystery of getting a single with a runner in scoring position? This rookie for the Cubs actually worked a walk, went to second on a bunt, and scored on a double from Neifi Perez. Perez got to third on a passball and Nomar and Aramis can't drive him in.
