At least these forums apparently don't change your screen name too. On the Scotsmanality forums when they set it so huzzah automatically changed to Review WCW, and since Huzzah was my forum name that changed too until they dropped it. I watch the reruns of WWTBAM religiously on GSN, and I've seen much contestants send much worse questions than this to the audience... although in defense of some of those cases, the contenstants were older people faced with a pop culture question of the late 90's, which really would be the perfect question to send to the audience if you don't know, rather than, say, a $125,000 question about some obscure literary work

 

The worst time I can recall it being used was on a $100 question which was "This children's game goes the name 'Duck duck _______'..." and the (fairly young) guy sent it to the audience. Ironically enough, I think the guy went on to win $250,000...

Whatever happened to Scotsmanality? Did he explain why he closed the whole site down?

From Scotsman:

Long story short, around August of last year I pretty much burnt out. I just couldn't be bothered writing anymore, and took time off. Around the same time I got into poker, and ended up putting all my spare time into that, educating myself about the game bla bla bla. I ended up taking time off from work to see if I could possibly play poker for a living and it worked out, so have now taken a year off from my job to pursue that career path.

 

In December I attempted to bring the site back with a WCW Thunder review, but it just wasn't working out. I mean, I had the game and sat down numerous nights to do a review...but just didn't have the passion, and put it off and put it off.

 

In January I re-opened the site so that my archives would always be there. Also another member of the site(cubsfan328) took control of the forums.

 

Then in February a funny little thing happened; the domain name came up for renewal. At the very last day I paid for the domain, however something fucked up and it didn't go through. They ended up trying to rob me dry, wanting about $500 to re-instate the domain for ten years, refusing to let me do it for less than that. Complete mess, and I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

 

So that's pretty much the fascinating(cough) end of Scotsmanality. Unfortunately the archives are not around anymore, although I do have the database backed up. If anyone ever wants an article sent to them just drop me an e-mail at g69 @ kingston dot net and I'll be sure to send it to them.

 

I still have my old webspace, and have purchased another domain. The website(http://www.ultimatepokerbankroll.com) will pretty much guide new online poker players into the world of online poker and how to build a 1k bankroll in a month, a guide I wish I'd had when I started.
